A couple of rattles I had to fix. One the rear window. So you might have that rattle. Two the tweeter grill. They are metal and sit in a metal surround. So I found one to be loose and fixed that. If you can move the grill easily then it needs to be secured
Does the door tweeter grill separate from the surround? My passenger side “rocks” in the surround. Rattles when passenger door is closed. Still quiet while driving.

My pet peeve is rattles, vibrations etc. I'm not sure why but I just cant stand it when any vehicle I own makes unnecessary and irritating sounds. Thank the Lord I got a quiet truck! I feel your pain for those that have these issues!

Noises that I eliminated in my truck...Very easy to do.
1 - Sunroof Velcro Clips. Pulled the headliner down...did not remove...slid the clips out of the headliner, padded the back...reinserted
2 - Folded rear seats forward. Unbolted Subwoofer...did not remove...padded behind mounting points, tightened back down
3 - While seat was folded forward...found loose module at the floor beneath center console against cab wall. Double sided taped it
4 - Rear window rattled...was wire inside the channel on passenger side vibrating...ran bead of black RTV in the channel
All rattles/vibrations eliminated. 30 min max to resolve all. NO DEALER to mess up my truck. Super Quiet for 4K miles. Love it.
Should it have been delivered quiet...of course...30 minutes to resolve all my issues, no 2 day frustrating unresolved dealer visit...Bonus
Can you give me some more info/instructions on how you pulled down the headliner and padded the clips? I'm sure mine is doing this and I'd love to fix it! TIA

Grab the edge from inside the sunroof (near each clip) and pull straight down. There will be a lot of resistance, but the velcro will release. You can then slide each clip out from the top of the headliner by placing a finger on top and pulling towards the sunroof opening.

Not sure if you can help. Yesterday I bought a 2019 Limited from a dealer 4 hours away. I am having a rattle related to the Nav screen. Seems like it isn't seated firmly enough. When i press down on it it immediately goes away. I am nervous about taking it to the dealer closest to me. Any suggestions?

Look what my dealer in Harrisburg PA did to my console when they removed the bolt that was rolling around in my heater box. I waited over 7 months to take the truck in to have the annoying noise fixed because I knew they would damage something when fixing the factory defect.

They even got grease all over the front passenger seat. This photo is after I cleaned the grease off. It left some small permanent stains.

Here is a link to the video of what is occurring.
. I appreciate the response but I know where the dealers are. I am nervous about bringing it to the dealer. I am fearful they will do more harm than good. I was hoping someone might have an idea what was causing it and a remedy. Thanks again.

Ok so just over 1k miles on my 19 and since about the first week i am having something rattling in the back end. Sounds like its coming from behind the rear seat or the seat itself. Its is not the reclining seats. Anyone experience similar issues? This is my 2nd ram and I am not impressed with it at all. Ive got more rattles then I did my 13 Express and everything on that **** truck was plastic. I want to trade this thing already.

I traded in my Bighorn 2018 2500, for 2019 Laramie 2500 megacab. On the drive home, after purchase, I had a noise like a golf ball bouncing around in a plastic jug, over mild (and worse) bumps. Being a 30 year tech, I figured I would find the rattle myself, instead of the 50 mile drive back to the dealer. The noise is in the exact location as you (Forkliftfranky12) mentioned. I pulled everything out of the rear, down to the body panel under the subwoofer box. Using my mechanics stethoscope I can hear, and feel the noise all the way across the cab. That led me to find 18-20 suspicious areas under the truck. Grind marks on the body, two left hand body mounts crooked by 1/2", body shifted over to the passenger side, obvious witness marks from impact guns on bolts/washers. Crossmember has been R&R, yada yada. The truck is not new!!! Fighting with Dwayne Wayne in Everett, WA for a "new" truck to replace. Got the Attorney General to pick up my case, soon the media will be involved with really neat large *** cameras. Oh,, back to the rattle, I am convinced that it lies between the outer and inner skin, where the seats bolt through the rear. Sort of like a cavity that runs the width. So I decide to visit another dealer two days ago and drive another 2019 Megacab truck. SAME RATTLE!!! WTF. The truck is less than two months old and the dealer has had it for 33 cumulative days. Time for a buyback. Noone at the dealer will acknowledge the damage on the truck as being an issue. Dwayne Lane will NEVER get any positive feedback from me. My FCA rep in detroit, who is handling my case told the dealer that they need to fill out a damage claim and replace it. They brush that off due to the language/verbage my rep used. Apparently the dealer can't take direction properly. I would gladly post some pics if any parties are interested. As I discovered, Ram customer care in Detroit, is just as useless in my pleas as the dealer is. They got their $70K and now I don't exist. What additional information do you need? I am taking the truck to Dayton Andrews at 730am on July 9th. I appreciate any help you can give.

I have this same issue on my 19 Ram 2500 sounds like its coming from under the back seat, drives me crazy. I have searched and searched for it simulating bumps and have had no luck so far. Also when I first bought the truck (only 80 miles) I noticed when I got home the shifter selector was loose had to take off rubber boot and tighten loose bolt. Please let me know if you or anyone have found the rattling issue. I don’t want to but may go see the dealer which most likely will do no good.

19RAMCUMMIN,
i purchased a set of chassis ears from amazon. i'm trying to narrow down the noise. i am suspecting the rear cab mounts for the megacab. is your's a megacab also? I'll keep everyone posted when i find it. i'm not letting the dealer tear into it. i'm too anal about people working on my truck. as a 35 year tech, i'll figure it out.

MEGA CAB RATTLE FOUND!!!! AND CURED!!!
ok everyone.. here's the skinny on the rattle that is probably present in almost every 2019 Ram with the mega cab. This ONLY applies to the mega cab truck. The noise, rattle, which sounds like a block of wood bouncing around, golf ball in a plastic jug (my description) etc.. anything that is coming from the underside of the truck, in the rear of the cab. After purchasing a set of electronic chassis ears, I narrowed the noise down the rear cab/body mounts. These are a new design and not the same mount as the rest of the body mounts. The issue lies in how the metal sleeve, inside the mount, bounces off the floor of the cab while hitting sharp bumps. If you remove the 18mm bolt and large washer, you can see the metal sleeve. it's about 3/4" inside diameter. No matter how tight the bolt is, the sleeve will always hit the underside of the body over sharp bumps. So here's the cure. Forget going to the dealer as there isn't an updated bushing, (there was for the 1500 but only the front mount) and it's relatively easy fix. They also won't give two ****s anyway, will track footprints in your truck, waste your time because the booger-eater tech doesn't have a clue. (I've spent 30 years as a certified tech, general foreman of a large government fleet shop, so I've seen plenty of booger-eaters)
Take the large washer that covers the lower portion of the bushing (thick one with some paint pen marks on it) and oversize the hole to at least one inch. Unibit works great. Remove the thin sleeve that's snapped into place, inside the washer, as you'll need this later. Loosen all of the body bolts as you will need to jack up the truck from the rocker panel to separate the body from the bushings. Use some dunnage (2x4) and place it under the rocker panel to spread the load while jacking up the body. Place a towel or rags over it so it won't scratch up the underside. (I'm anal). I used a small handled interior pry bar, and wedged it between the rear body mount and underside of the cab. Do this from the rearward side as there's a nice radius on the cab channel to make it easier. This gives enough room to slide the large/thick washer between the mount and body. Center up the over-sized hole, over the existing metal sleeve that is centered in the bushing. You will see two dimples or indentations on the large metal washer. Place those facing down as to keep the portion of the washer that rests against the body, flat. In other words, the two indents compress the rubber portion of the body mount. The overall goal in this, is to compress the internal sleeve, tight against the floor of the truck when it's torqued. With the over-sized hole in the washer, the sleeve will compress against the body when the bolt is torqued back down. Now I went one further step in eliminating the noise once and for all. I replaced the thin sleeve, back inside the bushing. This gives a little "shelf" around the existing metal sleeve. I added two washers, roughly just over an inch in diameter, to fit over the long bushing bolt. Fender washers are good because of their size. These two washers allow just enough thickness as to make contact with the sleeve, and make it sit flush against the body. (The rubber portions of the mount have a metal structure inside, so they don't crush easily). You can't remove the thick factory washer on the bolt, which you don't want to do anyway. Torque to 90 ft lbs. (factory spec). Now there are two things I will mention. The repair manual states that the bushing bolts are a one time use. Like a torque to yield head bolt. I say poo-poo to that so I used them again. I can't see the logic, however that's what the factory states. They are not a stretch torque value. Your decision. Secondly, by re-locating the large/thick washer up top, the rubber portion of the bushing is exposed to the elements. Again, I don't see this as an issue. I torqued all bolts back to 90 ft. lbs and it's as quiet as it should be. The noise is now gone and I don't foresee any other issues creeping up. Please spread this around to any other folks that might be experiencing this. I would have attached some pics, however it's pretty straight forward. I hope this helps out. If you email me at [email protected], I will send some pics of what I did.
