RamBox Dividers - a better option!

Ha....the visual of me testing this in the driveway of my community has me laughing. My best guess is maybe...I cut the center groove pretty deep.
Hmm, my neighbors wouldn't bat an eye...
Looking good Capt Joe!

I like it still waiting to buy a set for both boxes

Did you take out the need for the add-on hooks by putting in the fingers in the bottom area? If they were still needed it would be cool to have a set of the STL files since 3d printed stuff has a nasty habit of breaking.

Were you planning on making the floor pieces for the ends? I have a 2011 that is a month away from getting replaced, the floors are nice for keeping stuff out of sight. I honestly don't even know if that's an option in the 5th gens or if they took the ledge away. Either way, your dividers are way cooler than the ones in the kit, although the kit is nice for the nets. I'd probably still be interested in using your dividers even if I did buy the Mopar pack for the extra bits.

I printed them with PETG which is pretty strong but each hook was well over an hour to print and would make the dividers very expensive and SLOW. Plus I achieved the same thing with the bags hooks.

I do have templates for the hatches but haven't run off a set yet to test.

Capt, curious why you didn’t make that center divider line up with the slot

Nice work on these dividers btw. Coming along very nicely.

Yeah the 60/40 one looks weird to me as well. Probably better off just do doing 50/50, utilizing the slot, and doing RAM | BOX on the split.

2 reasons...
1. If you want to divide the space in half just move the the divider over.
Also, in pictures it looks odd but standing over it, it looks good and gives a better use of space. Either way several of those testers will be going out too.

2. The sheet of HPDE plastic that this is getting carved from doesn't have any more available space to reach the ends...so I could offer a 60/40 split or nothing. I needed 9 inches of free space on the sheet to make the divider reach the ends which are a hair over 9 inches wide and only had 7.5" available so to maximize the plastic and reduce waste this is how we went See pic..20190413_152734.jpg

I will be happy to test them out for the group!

I guess one option would be to delete the hook on each side of the long piece, then you could slide the piece all the way to the left on the plastic sheet, freeing up your vertical space beyond 7.5”. But given your other statements and that people seem to like those hooks, it probably wouldn’t be worth doing.

My suggestion would be to remove the word RAMBOX. That is a trademark, and you would hate for FCA to sue you for trademark infringement.

Name them Capt. Compartments! ;)

Personally I like the 6040 split because it would eliminate the annoyance of having something that's just a fraction bigger than the compartments and it wouldn't fit in either of the four because they're all the same size. Had a 6040 you can fit the small stuff on the left and any largest stuff on the right. But the fact that you can slide it over and put it in the middle slot gives you that option also. So based on information I think it's actually the most versatile design.

What's the reasoning for the two holes in the upper part? I thought it was for less material when creating them but since you're cutting it out of a solid piece You're not saving any material by not 3D printing more service area. So my guess was wrong. What was the reason you put the two holes on the top finger holes to pull them out easier?

Maybe just make multiple notches in the long part, one 50-50, the other ones a few inches apart, so someone would arrange his dividers the way he needs.

That said my truck doesn't have a rambox (hell, I don't even have my truck yet...) but I like what you're doing here.

Thanks for the compliments fellas... To wet your whistle even more here is my other design....the center divider is completely removable!

That's the winner in my book. Awesome. I'll open Pay Pal. You can write your price.
