sorry im a little late to the game here 😄 😄
what are you using the canopy for?I am retired now and have a 2016 Toyota Tacoma sport 4x4, I also purchased a 19' travel trailer that weighs 5,100 lbs. The taco can tow it but strains to keep it at 62 mph with rpm below 3K and slows down going over the coastal mountains. Now that Ram has the new hurricane I6 engine with more HP and Torque than other V8s and V6s and better MPG how could I refuse. Plus it has lots of bells and whistles for towing trailers.
I ordered my new truck 8/15/2024 since there are none like it in the USA to purchase and will be tracking its assembly on the Ram.com website. I have attached the build and price sheet for your information. I negotiated a price of $73,019 which is without any sales tax since Oregon has none and doesn't include the closing cost of registration and title. I have received a $1,000 incentive from Consumer Reports website that is from Stellantis as well as a $500 incentive from Ram for disabled veterans. Apparently any incentives issued from Ram can be applied to my order from date of order to acceptance of the truck so the highest incentive released for the next 2-3 months will get applied. Right now Ram is offering a $3,000 incentive which is the highest one so far. Holiday season is approaching so hopefully there will be a higher incentive coming out that I can apply.
That means my present truck price including all the incentives is 73,019-1,000-500-3000=$68,519.
I just wished Ram still offered the Hydro blue color, only other blue is the Forged Metallic Blue.
I will also be buying a tall canopy like the Leer 122 or ARE TW series. Any lessons learned or suggestions from you folks with these tall canopies?
ah i see. for your use case that should be fine. i've seen a lot of those types in the past 3 weeks on the road to Arctic and quite honestly... despite their functions they look quite funny lolI usually carry my folded 12' inflatable catamaran, motor, wood seats and boxes for the ropes, anchors, electric bikes, firewood and crab pots when I travel with the travel trailer. I also load groceries and other goodies when shopping. I like the secure added storage the canopy offers plus the added height so I don't scrape my bald head loading and unloading cargo. The height also allows for my bikes to stand upright. Here in Oregon it rains a lot so having the bed covered protects the cargo I carry around.
