Well I thought mine were hitting the windows but after looking closer they are not. They are just really close to the glass and the noise must be the internal stopped mentioned.
Picked up truck yesterday, would swear they were hitting. Checked out the mirrors again today with my 27 year old (young eyes) son. Closer examination they do not touch. Took us both a few "analysis" to verify.

Well everyone pretty much hit the nail on the head, I also have a 2019 Ram 1500 Longhorn. I had it at the dealership last week to have the drivers side mirror replaced because it just kept clicking. Next I’m calling them about the clunk when starting it without the remote start, then a clunk on the drivers side front end over uneven bumps. Then lastest issue is the gears are jumping all over the place under 15-2mph. Just hit 5k miles

The clunk on uneven surfaces is the body mount...mine did the same and they fixed it. There should be a TSB out on it? All my problems, more than just the clunk, were taken care of after a rather lengthy stay at the dealership which I was NOT happy about. I will say that my local dealer and RAM did make it right and made me happy. The wait was worth it....LOVE my Laramie Sport.

So I inspected my new truck today, and it sounded like the mirror hit the window when I folded them back, but after I lowered the window to see how far the mirror would go if not restricted I realized it stopped JUST before interfering. I could raise and lower the window with the mirrors folded in. Maybe the little bonk noise is from it hitting an internal stop perhaps. When I checked the mirror was not contacting the glass when folded. Really really close, but not touching. Here’s a pic:

I also had the same problem with the mirror, had to replace pass side now have to go back for drivers side ........ don't know if replacing will correct the problem as pass side still knocks

I really Love the new truck, but the new truck is certainly having some teething pains. While I’m at it I’ll list all the other issues I have noticed in the first 1300 miles of ownership.
1. Both front seat covers were not attached to the front of the seat frame. Easy fix.
2. Intermittent Clunk on startup.
3. Clunk below drivers foot while turning over unleveled pavement.
4. While rolling through low speed corners, the truck slams into first gear violently jerking the truck. This only occurs if I almost stop before accelerating. There is some play in the rear end or transfer case that I’m sure isn’t helping.
5. Slight wine in the transfer case or front differential when in 4 auto.
6. Minor rattle with the drivers air conditioner vent.
7. Poor AC performance compared to my 2012 Ram 1500. I estimate about 85% capacity compared to my previous Ram. I have installed ceramic tint which helped, but it’s definitely a weaker system.
8. Passenger rear door makes a rattling sound when closing.
9. Occasional lifter rattle on startup.
10. Excessive wind noise from drivers window pillar seal area.

I plan to present all these issues to the dealership soon, however most of the real issues are so intermittent, I know the chances are slim it will act up for the tech. I’m hoping that those that have some of the same issues that occur more frequently will share their resolutions.

Thanks in advance!

Ever get your startup clunk fixed? Mine occurs less frequently now, but boy when it does it scares the crap out of me. Sounds like someone takes a ballpeen hammer to the underside of the truck!

I too had a seat cover clip loose on pass side front seat, which I fixed.

My driver’s side rear door rattles when I close it.

My clunks when turning were fixed with the TSB that came out.

My main complaint though is that startup clunk!

My truck is currently in the shop for all the issues I’ve listed on the forum. I’ll post the results when I get it back.

No luck on the startup clunk. They said they could not reproduce it, however I have already heard it three times in three days I’ve had it back. On the bright side, it does seem that it’s continuously less violent. I’m at 3300 miles now.

Yep, same here. I have about 7k miles. I have yet to reproduce the loud clank when I remote start it. Only does it when I press the start/stop button in the cab...weird. Good luck!

Yes! That is what started my issue with the Remote Start...shut the whole vehicle down ..Loud pop..no display had it towed to dealership...could not discover the malfunction..., runs fine now except for automatic suspension...at times will run in entry level too long before manually raising to Aero or Normal...

Picked up a 2019 Laramie 4x4 which now has about 2k miles on it. Even though I love the truck and I think Ram did a good job with it, I have had a few issues and wanted everyone to be aware. If you are experiencing the same issues I would love to hear about it.

  1. When the truck is turned on and you fold in the power side mirrors; the drivers side mirror bangs against the glass and tries to correct itself, over and over. Practically the mirror is rotating too much.
    1. Took it in to the dealer. Dealer had it a whole week and couldn't fix the problem because they need to replace the whole drivers side mirror, yet the mirror isn't manufactured yet. (But every truck on the assembly line gets one put on??) AKA a bunch of BS from the dealer/manufacture in my opinion. A defect they can not even fix so just gave it back to me and told me to pretty much wait. Talked about pulling a mirror off another truck on the lot, yet we all know that didn't happen.
  2. Brakes squeak when breaking from around 40 mph. From day 1.
  3. Back seat USB ports did not work (dealer fixed when the truck was taken in for the mirror issue).
  4. Weird "cold start" noise after truck has sit over night. I live in Texas and its 100 degrees everyday, yet just sitting over night (7-9hrs) sometimes a "Clunk" noise when starting. Sounds like it comes from the middle of the truck, but hard to pin down the exact location. Happens about 80% of the time.
  5. Rear back up noise sensor "Beep" turned off and the button shows it is still remained off yet once you turn off and back on the truck the button still shows off yet it still beeps.
I bought a 2019 1500 Laramie blue streak fully loaded on 8-14-18. Looked all over for this truck
With in the first two weeks it started driving by its self from a dead stop. Went from 0-52 mph on its own. The gas pedal is dead and only could break. Very scary. But after I stopped shut it off. Turned it back on. It reset it self. It has happened over 11 times now. Anyone else. Ive called Chrysler. And a laywer now. Not happy.

Im having the same issue with my mirror. They replaced a sensor in the door thinking that would fix it but no dice. They had to order a new mirror for me, which will be replaced this coming up Tuesday. Hopefully, that fixes the issue. I have the same issue in regards to the cold starting noise.

Okay, for the mirrors, they do not hit the glass. They come close, but the thunk sound you hear is from the mirror itself. I tested a few trucks out at the dealership I bought mine and had to watch it carefully standing half out the door hitting the power mirror button and watching it.

I repeat, the mirrors don't hit the window. Lol I thought it did at first but I am glad I inspected it myself also shining a flashlight on it to see it better. The mirror is about 3/8 from the glass....maybe a tad farther.

I’m having the same issue with the drivers side mirror not knowing where to stop and at times I have manually fold it out. Also noticing a rather loud clunking issue when shifting from reverse to drive and back again. I bought it at a dealership 500 miles from me, hope the local one has a decent service department and fix these issues. Somewhat disappointed at having to fix a brand new and expensive truck.

I am terribly sorry to hear that you have concerns regarding your new trucks. If you have not already, please send us a private message with your VIN, mileage, and dealer. We can certainly document these experiences on your behalf, and we would like to provide an additional layer of assistance while your truck is in service at the dealer.

Hi Darlene

I bought a Laramie at Dave Smith but unfortunately can’t travel 500 miles every time to have it serviced. I would like to use the tacoma dealership and would like to know if replacing the driver side mirror will fix the issue I’m having and what are the fixes for the transmission clunking?

Thanks

After my Army retirement I worked at a CDJR store as service advisor/warranty administrator for 17 years; my service manager informed me that warranty repairs were required to be performed only by the selling dealership but any dealer could do repairs if they chose to; I was surprised to hear this since we accepted all warranty repairs regardless of who the selling dealer was; we were glad for the business but some dealers don't treat customers as well if they were not the selling dealer; it's best to buy your truck from the dealer where you plan to take your service work, even if you have to pay more; if you find a truck you want out of town get your local dealer to work out a dealer transfer; before my second retirement in 2011, I often drove new vehicles to other dealerships to swap out for another new unit that my dealer had sold.

And for those of us that are still active duty, and PCS? Or buy the truck prior to joining? Or at our home of record? Ideas?

The dealership I worked for was one of four dealer's within 30 miles of Ft. Rucker, AL and all the dealers welcomed the business from the military personnel---the dealers know about the changes of location required of active duty personnel and, in my experience, all the dealers in my area performed warranty work regardless of where vehicle was purchased.

Fortunately I won’t be back at Rucker anytime soon, but hopefully this is the same in the Campbell area.

Hi Whatever33,

As the Customer Care Team, we are unable to provide mechanical advice, and therefore I cannot speculate on the diagnosis and repair procedures of your vehicle. However, we can create and escalate a case on your behalf while your vehicle is in service to add a layer of support. Please send us a private message with your VIN and mileage if you make an appointment with your dealer to have your concern addressed.

Both of my mirrors had to be replaces ( different times for the same reason )

My folding mirrors sound like they really hit hard but apparently they do not. I had read in a previous thread that it looks like they are touching the window but there is space there. (they may touch when you hear that slight "thud." I had the mirrors folding in and then let the window all the way down and there is a slight space between the window and mirror when you check it . Mine work perfectly.
