My mirrors did the same thing where it would keep running after reaching the folded position. Dealer replaced both mirrors, don't let them tell you they can't get the parts because my dealer did.
Did that fix the issue?

I just got my truck back because my passenger mirror was doing this. Well I get in the truck this morning at the dealer...guess what?? The driver side mirror does it. I immediately turned around and brought it back. They clearly didnt check because it didnt the first time I got in it, so now they have to order a new one for the drivers side. Im really getting tired of this truck and crappy dealers.

I was test driving a RAM earlier this week. I tried folding the power folding mirrors and DID notice that when folding it, it did hit the glass. It just touched it with a light thud and stopped - didn't go back and forth. However I found it odd that it was designed to not stop before it hit the window. Are you guys seeing this with your trucks too?
So I inspected my new truck today, and it sounded like the mirror hit the window when I folded them back, but after I lowered the window to see how far the mirror would go if not restricted I realized it stopped JUST before interfering. I could raise and lower the window with the mirrors folded in. Maybe the little bonk noise is from it hitting an internal stop perhaps. When I checked the mirror was not contacting the glass when folded. Really really close, but not touching. Here’s a pic:

So it didn't touch and rebound off of the glass? Does it make the same noise if you fold them in with the windows down? I feel like mine bump the glass, but I'll be happy to be proven wrong!

That’s possible I guess, but I won’t be back in it until my Friday test drive. Will see then. I was glad to see it wasn’t constantly pushing, and that I couldn’t close the window onto the mirror. That would be bad.

Thanks for checking YoAdrian. I think it's odd that they don't stop the mirror further away from the glass. I have the jeep and it stops maybe half an inch away from glass, you would think with it being the same company they would do the same with the RAM... dunno. oh well as long as it isn't touching I guess that's fine. Thanks for checking again!

My power fold mirrors also touch my windows when they fold. I honestly never considered it a problem and I fold mine everyday.
Mine touch also and I thought they were just designed that way lol. It’s not a loud bang, but like a baby’s kiss saying “ hello “ type. :)

Mine was obviously defective, as though there was a limiter that wasn't kicking in. It would hit the window and keep grinding until it found a spot it liked. Then it was a finger crossed affair to get them to fold back out. Since I had them replaced they have been flawless, but they do stop very very close to the window.

I have a 2019 ram limited with 5,500 miles on it. I've scheduled service 3 times now due to various issues. Issues I've had that haven't been resolved are as follows. These issues have existed from day 1 of ownership.

1. Clunk/clicking noise upon starting from right front engine bay (happens once every 25 or so starts)

2. Truck is very choppy in traffic and gears bang.

3. Idle surge (rpm's are not consistent) when foot is coasting and off accelerator between 7-15 mph. The surge can be felt slightly in the sense that it feels like it is missing power through the RPM curve. More noticeable up hills.

4. When braking from 40 I get a loud squeak in front left brake. I also get a surge of acceleration and idle right before stopping (happens 20 % of the time).

5. U-connect screen freezes and needs to be reset consistently.

6. Volume on speakers for radio, Bluetooth, phone, sometimes takes several minutes to turn on.

7. Back speakers sound like they're blown out. (Harmon Kardon 19 speaker sound system)

8. When my truck was delivered (I ordered it) it had several dents and scratches. The dealer did fix one of the dents but the second one remains. Scratches on hood of truck looks like they occurred when removing plastic. (completely careless for a $67,000 truck).

I've owned Ram for years (multiple 1500, 2500 and 3500 trucks) now and I'm really torn with this as I've had a number of significant (in my eyes) issues that haven't been resolved. I've taken the truck to two dealers and both said that my cat back exhaust was to blame for my idle surge. This isn't the case as the surge was present before installing the exhaust and I've had multiple trucks with the same engine/exhaust set up with no issues.

Any advice before I decide to move on and not to deal with any more?

I really Love the new truck, but the new truck is certainly having some teething pains. While I’m at it I’ll list all the other issues I have noticed in the first 1300 miles of ownership.
1. Both front seat covers were not attached to the front of the seat frame. Easy fix.
2. Intermittent Clunk on startup.
3. Clunk below drivers foot while turning over unleveled pavement.
4. While rolling through low speed corners, the truck slams into first gear violently jerking the truck. This only occurs if I almost stop before accelerating. There is some play in the rear end or transfer case that I’m sure isn’t helping.
5. Slight wine in the transfer case or front differential when in 4 auto.
6. Minor rattle with the drivers air conditioner vent.
7. Poor AC performance compared to my 2012 Ram 1500. I estimate about 85% capacity compared to my previous Ram. I have installed ceramic tint which helped, but it’s definitely a weaker system.
8. Passenger rear door makes a rattling sound when closing.
9. Occasional lifter rattle on startup.
10. Excessive wind noise from drivers window pillar seal area.

I plan to present all these issues to the dealership soon, however most of the real issues are so intermittent, I know the chances are slim it will act up for the tech. I’m hoping that those that have some of the same issues that occur more frequently will share their resolutions.

Thanks in advance!
I just purchased a 2019 Laramie Sport 4x4 three weeks ago. I have the same issue with the clunk when turning on uneven surfaces. The A/C drained into passenger floor SOAKING it and engine lights on after engaging 4x4. I had it one week and it has been at the dealer for the past 2 weeks today! They say they have no idea on the noise for uneven surfaces (couldn't hear it), said they have probably fixed the A/C drain and have replaced some motor in the transfer case but it is still throwing codes. I LOVE the truck but this is ridiculous, getting ready to make the first payment on a $55k truck and have only had it a week!

Hmmm...now that it's been mentioned, the driver's side mirror on my Laramie Longhorn does make contact with the window. The passenger's side mirror doesn't touch the window because it doesn't work at all! I also had an issue with the engine running really rough after the first start of the day, but with 1800 miles on it, that issue seems to have corrected itself. I still have a significant vibration when driving between 55-60MPH that needs to be corrected so as soon as I can find some time (I travel a lot), I'll make an appointment with the dealership to have the mirrors fixed and...hopefully...the vibration taken care of.

Yeah, I looked at mine and it does not touch the window. It just make the whirr when it's fully folded, so I'm fine with that.

Had squeal on brakes also. Dealer just fixed it a few days ago (replaced rotors and updated pads). No more squeal (so far).

I feel your pain. The clunk while turning issue more or less has a solution in another thread. Getting the shop to witness it before they can repair it under warranty is a much more difficult task if you are in the same boat that I’m in. All my intermittent issues have reduced in frequency somewhat, which doesn’t help with resolving them. When the truck isn’t literally clunking around, I absolutely love the truck.

I have similar issues as everyone on here. brake squeak, cabin squeak, rattles, Fixed all the rattles myself a little adhesive back foam here and there. I've had to do this on every new vehicle I've owned except one Lexus the fit and finish on it was superb. Brake squeak I'm sure will get sorted out. Now the cabin squeak is another animal, Its coming from underneath the truck and transmitting through the seat frame, I have traced it that far. But still can't find a source and it only does it in the morning when the truck is cold. @marcd118 knows the squeak, a few guys on here including him have it and have torn apart the interiors looking for it. Can't take it the dealer because the odds are it wont do it by the time they get around to looking at it. I thought the mirrors were hitting the glass because they got so dang close and there's a clunk, The clunk is actually the internal stop in the mirror housing they do get extremely close to the glass though maybe within a 1/16" on the drivers side and 1/8" on the passenger side. I squeezed a finger behind and you can just barely see it but there is a gap. the reflection of the glass is a little misleading when looking from inside the cab.

Well I thought mine were hitting the windows but after looking closer they are not. They are just really close to the glass and the noise must be the internal stopped mentioned.

Yes my brakes "Squeak" also along with my 8.4 alpine radio problems. However my mirror does not do that. Have not noticed and weird noise when starting it up.

My mirrors did the same thing where it would keep running after reaching the folded position. Dealer replaced both mirrors, don't let them tell you they can't get the parts because my dealer did.

I have had 4 mirrors replaced.
2 each side within 2 months.
They keep running and slamming the windows. Going opposite way towards the front. SMDH
