Price negotiated from MSRP

Negotiating with a dealer on a Limited 4x4, 5.7 bed. MSRP is $81,005, is invoice a fair price ($74,931). I was hoping for closer to 10% off of MSRP, but wanted to seek some feedback. Holdback on the truck is about $2400.

10+% is achievable. I have purchased many cars and trucks and never once did I ever concern myself with the invoice or holdback. Do yourself a favor and just find out what others are paying for a similar truck. If you concentrate on invoice or holdback, you will get burned imo. The only time a would concern myself with invoice is if it is a no haggle deal and it is being advertised as a percentage above or below invoice. Otherwise stick to a percentage you want off the sticker price. Mark Dodge is currently advertising about 12.5% off Limited's on their lots, just for reference.

Early May I closed on my similar priced limited, ended up at $73k flat, from $81.3msrp. Doing it again I would engage with Mark.

Just ordered from Mark Dodge. $83,185 sticker, OTD with paperwork $73,216. Just add title and tax when I bring it back to Michigan. The mark Dodge price without the friends and family discount I get, than the local dealers, with FFP discount.

Is ordering already closed for My2023 ...and any new features with the 24s?

I hate when I just sit down, and have to get up to go look at my paperwork for these answers. Just kidding.
Base 4x4 w/ 5'7... 23, $67,550, 24 $68,160
Patriot Blue, 23, $200, 24 $245
Trailer tow 23, $1,095, 24 $1195
Sunroof 23, $1,495, 24 $1,595

It cost a few hundred more to get the 24, but this late in the year, getting a 23 didn't make sense, because in less than 1 month, it would be considered a year old, and if I would resell later, it would be worth at least $1,000 less in value. There are basically no difference in the 2 years.

what's a hold back... if you looked through some of us got huge deals...

Is invoice fair? depends on the buyer, but i don't think the truck is worth that price.

Hold back is written at the lower part of the POC. That's like their guaranteed profit so to speak. I went to the local dealer to show him the deal I ordered through Mark Dodge. He still insisted they can't sell it that cheap. That was one of his point, on my OC it has HB as 0. He showed me one of his deals. The hold back was $2,200. He said they can't stay in business selling at zero profit.🤣

It’s all about numbers. If that dealer sold the kinda volume the MD does I’m sure they would get more kickbacks from the factory. MD has obviously got it figured out. If every dealer did that before long there would be no deals like they offer. Very few dealers can handle that kinda volume. My local dealer has problems getting salesmen. The manager is doing just about everything. It’s just him and the finance guy right now. Lucky if they sell 1-2 new vehicles a week. Not sure how they stay in business especially with no inventory.

Negotiated a deal late yesterday on a new 2023 Ram 1500 4x4 Built to Serve edition with 5.7L.

$60,305 MSRP + TTL $1145 + Doc Fee $150 = $61,600
-$4,000 trade equity (I’m happy with trade offer)
-$1,000 CC financing rebate
-$11,600 dealer discounts and rebates
$45,000 Out the door

I’m supposed to pick it up this afternoon. Good deal?

He said Mark Dodge can't stay in business at $0 profit. He was showing me their profit on a deal was $2,200. He also said his daughter just paid $6,00 over sticker buying a vehicle in Arizona. I don't know why anybody is dumb enough to pay over sticker.

I saw a Video that showed a F150 Shelby Edition with a $37K Adjustment plus other dealer add ons. New price was $150K.

Long story short - Total $76,128, paid $60,039.
2023 Laramie 4x4 purchased end of June '23 @ Lake Norman, NC. Base MSRP $56, 375, w/ factory options MSRP $74,930. Agreed to pay for dealer already installed LoJack and tint - an addtional $1198. Received straight 20% off sticker plus a 2-year "perishables" service plan at no charge - battery, wipers, etc. if I bought one off the lot before month's end. Total MSRP + Dealer options = $76,128 and I paid $60,039 plus sales tax/registration, admin fee, electronic filing fee, title fee. The other offer was 2.9% APR (I have the highest credit rating and that was normally 8.1% through dealer last month which they could have beat down to about 6.2%) instead of 20% off for someone with less liquidity. They are running the same offer in June for any Big Horn or Laramie on the lot. Lake Norman and Gastonia dealers in North Carolina have same ownership. I shopped North Carolina and Virginia near I-77 and southern West Virginia - this was the best published deal.
Specs: RAM 1500 Laramie Crew Cab 4x4 w/ 5.7L V8 Hemi (MDS) Flame Red ext, Black int, Trailer Tow Group, Advanced Safety Group, Night Edition, Laramie B group, Rubber floor mats, upcharge for V8, Power running boards, Rear wheelhouse liners, 33-gal tank, Ramboxes, Class IV hitch.

You were in my neck of the woods! They (Lake Norman) were my plan B if the GT that I got didn't work out. They do have a pretty high doc fee though....higher than most in the area.
