Price negotiated from MSRP

I just told Aaron I was a friend of Adam Chandler. He then gave me a deal on a Laramie built I gave him that almost as good as Adams deal. It should be coming in next month. I feel like I'm cheating, Adam Chandler and Silent Bob do all the work and I just claimed them as friends. Then last week Aaron asked if I had room left in my garage that he had a new white Challenger R/T Scat Pack sitting on the lot. He then gave me 16.5% off MSRP and got me a $800 delivery fee for PA. That less than .60 a mile. Five days later the Challenger is in my garage
Pics or it's not true :). Congrats

Ordered my Laramie from Aaron in Feb, MSRP 63,815, before TTL 50,788. 20.4% off MSRP. Thought that was kinda standard, back then anyway?

Laramie's have (had) better rebates than Limited's and Longhorns, thats not a surprising discount on that trim but I suspect going forward, thats going to be hard to get from even Aaron as inventory gets lower and lower. There's multiple posts of buyers being told MSRP no lower now by dealers

How much of the discount was incentives, please? Which ones too if you don't mind. TIA

That's what Aaron said; that there's a shortage and it's not going to get better for a while. Looking on Ram's website, there are only 20 4x4 Limiteds with diesel and Night Edition within a 250 miles of me. I put in Tech Group and BUG, and there are only 4, and 2 of them are supposedly sold. He said dealerships in Texas are selling at MSRP right now.

Body colored bumpers have been an option for a long time. For example, on my 2001 Dakota, the Sport Edition had body colored bumpers, door handles and grill. The SLT model had chrome. And this is an option for Rams too.

I REALLY like the idea of brushed / satin metal! Or even black chrome. I can't believe matte paint hasn't trended.

Oh I know, I've had two rams with color matched bumpers(2011 and 2013). I was more referring to color matching the remaining parts that usually stay chromed, like the night edition does.

Although I also wouldn't mind seeing a truck with the brushed or satin stuff as well, not sure I would prefer that over the additional color matching but it would be interesting to see.

Everything I know, I learned from Silent Bob. I wish he got commission or had some RAM referral code to his name. he's saved all of us thousands of dollars.

This this fits well here, but also posted on another thread...

OK, so I think I have narrowed it down to three trucks. One is a build, two are locates.

Must have on all of them: 5.7 HEMI (no-ET), 5'7" crew, delmonico red, blind spot/cross path, navigation, 26+ gallon tank

Would add if it doesn't have it from factory: wheel well liners ($200), tailgate side step ($250-300, part of BUG if equipped). Would perhaps add spray liner at some point aftermarket (if not equipped with BUG)

Would be nice from factory: BUG, wheel well liners, trailer brake, anti-spin differential

Don't really care: power running boards, 12" screen, HK Sound system (I like the Alpine in current truck and have heard HK is worse)

Quick question: anyone know for sure if 5.7 w/o ET comes with 26 gallon tank standard? I was told it is.

Options:

1. Build a custom Limited. Approx 8 weeks out. This would be a basic Limited with only engine block heater and BUG as options. Comes standard with 26 gallon tank, blind spot/cross path, wheel well liners, 12" with nav, and spray-liner (BUG adds side step and extra tie downs). MSRP $62,985

2. https://www.dearthchryslerdodgejeep...Ram-1500-38e905940a0e0a6b73ea0a5f3f1e9be5.htm

window sticker: https://www.dearthchryslerdodgejeepram.com/api/legacy/pse/windowsticker/ram?vin=1C6SRFJT7MN665116

Built March 13. MSRP $59,225. Would need to add bed side step (and possibly later spray liner) and wheel well liners. Comes with anti-spin. 26 gallon tank (I think). 12" screen with navigation.

3. https://www.hobsoncdjr.com/new-Bedf...LARAMIE+CREW+CAB+4X4+57+BOX-1C6SRFJT5MN612947

window sticker: https://www.hobsoncdjr.com/api/inventory/GetStickers/?sv=MQBDADYAUwBSAEYASgBUADUATQBOADYAMQAyADkANAA3AA==&make=RAM&dealerCode=27203&loc=Vdp

Built December 3. Base price is $800 less than the one above (that is the price increase from December to March - inflation).
MSRP $59,830. Comes with anti-spin, 33 gallon tank, wheel well liners, power running boards. 8.4" with navigation (Laramie Level 2 group with the HK sound system). The lower base price is kind of eaten up by the expensive and overpriced Level 2 package and power running boards.

Pricing:

I am looking at two local dealerships. Dealer 1 is 30 miles away and $47,603 on my trade, and Dealer 2 is 60 miles away and $47,650. The doc fee for Dealer 2 is $79 higher but they also have a lifetime powertrain warranty (just keep receipts of maintenance, doesn't need to be done at the dealership). Both will lock in incentives, but Dealer 2 says they can lock in APR or cash back, not both. Dealer 1 would need some education on the Sold Order Consumer Incentive Protection program but sounded open to it.

I have $1,000 PenFed rebate as well.

I can get the Limited build for Invoice - holdback - incentives. Holdback is approx $1848. So this build would be approx $55,867, minus incentives (currently $500 plus 0%), which is only $1,867 worse than Phillip with the lowest pricing in the nation and I don'thave to ship it or lose sales tax benefits. 21s are expected to have better incentives as the model year closes out I was told. Dealer 1 is invoice - $1500 - incentives.

Dealer 1 is invoice - $1500 - incentives on a locate. Dealer 2 is near invoice on a locate (so that isn't an option for Dealer 2).

Payment:

Limited: Dealer 1: $482 for 72, or $578 for 60; Dealer 2 slightly cheaper at: $477 for 72, $572 for 60

Laramie locate, dealer 1: $426 for 72, $511 for 60

My current payment is $515 for 60 at 1.99%, we've paid about 6 payments so far at $550/mo. My old truck payment (2018 Ferd XLT) was $650/mo.

I am leaning either option 1 or 2. Option 2 is about a 2.5 hour drive for them to go get (if the other dealer will trade), option 3 is about 6 hours.

I'm so confused. What would you do?

Read this thread, is that the norm? No
I've read this thread daily since December, including prior history. You DON'T think it's the norm? What DO you think is the norm?

I think you and I are reading different threads!

The OP's question was, is 11% off (which I calculated for him) a good deal? And the answer is no, regardless of 0% financing.

That said, the last 30-45 days have been challenging because of the inventory squeeze and slow supply chain. Discounts have gotten harder to come by for on-the-lot purchases. However, for orders 16% or better is still a target. I know it, Silent Bob knows it, Bob Dole knows it.

RIF, were talking about night editions, blacked out or murdered out, not chrome bumpers
There is no confusion about what you were talking about. I even quoted your statement, which included these words, "I wouldn't be surprised if night edition or blacked out is played out in 3 or so years". The Night Edition is not only an option on a black body. You can get it in nearly every color. Mine, for example, is a Granite Crystal Metallic. Strictly speaking, blacked / murdered out, is ALL black. Not white with black rims and a black grill. So, if you have a white or red or grey or silver or blue truck, what's the Night Edition replacing? Well...it's replacing chrome grill, chrome bumper, chrome rims, and chrome badging. That's the standard equipment before options. So, if you nix the Night Edition, there currently isn't an alternative, except the body matched option. That option only covers the grill and bumpers. Badging and rims are still chrome.

So, when the Night Edition is "played out in 3 or so years", what is the option you think there will be? Well, we know chrome will be available. It's been available since before any of us was born. I think black can survive at least a few years, if chrome has survived 3 generations.

Read the last year. Typically 0% only gave you the dealer discount, setting Mark Dodge Ram aside and a few other outliers 11-13% is the norm on 0% but again, read the last year rather than just from december

Then you'd know we were speaking about black wheels in addition to the regular blacked out trim, also, we know what the night edition is and if you read, we said we didnt like all the chrome trim replaced with black. You disagree great for you, move on

Look at this one. You shouldn't be paying msrp. Not in this thread

Unfortunately my truck is getting picked up wayyy before my Penfed could even kick in. Hate losing out on that $1,000 but no other choice.

Just go enjoy your new truck and get your $250 BonusDrive check! Don't look back

Thanks. Good deal but too expensive.

If I build a Limited, I am at invoice - holdback - incentives at one dealer. Holdback is about $1850. So about $1800 worse than Phillip and $1500 worse than Aaron, but this is local so no shipping and I have good trade offers which saves me about $2500 in sales tax if I trade vs. sell to Carvana or private party.

Just deciding to order a Limited or try and get one of those two Laramies via dealer trade.

Ah ok. You had wrote limiteds but your links where laramies.

Wally - I'm still in the camp that the Limited is the way to go not only for the extra features and better value your truck will have in the future, but also because it's the only deal that has the opportunity to improve in the future (based on incentives at time of delivery).

Either way, I think you'll be happy with your truck/deal - best of luck!
