"ParkSense Temporarily Unavailable"

Anyone else have a similar issue cause I am as we speak. My rear sensor goes unavailable and screws radio up and shuts off back up camera. Very annoying.

I had my rear parking sensors quit on me. I took it in for warranty and spent
the next 10 Hours in the service area. The Software updates were not talking
to the BCM. There was a STAR case for it and just as they were about to close
the shop for the day it started working. I was already in a Loaner Jeep. Came back
because a tire was low and actually got my truck back.

What is your truck? you give no info. Some trucks with trailer steer were recalled for camera issues. There was a software update.

Mine is in that recall, but I will not let them Flash the Truck as I don't
use it and it is not acting up.

I can steer the Trailer fine. I used to push back Commercial Aircraft at BWI and National Airports.
Had a Class B CDL for 25 years and was a Yard Jockey for the Semis. I have even Driven a
Nuclear Attack Submarine (HMS Splendid) in the Bahamas when I Lived there

Mine is a 21 1500 big horn just called FCA and my truck was not one of them but low and behold my trusty non ram mechanic has the ability to scan this truck and the Trailer Reverse Steering module is bang first to pop up as an issue and the list goes on, with camera, radio, bumper sensor, abs. My truck is two months out of bumper to bumper FCA said have dealer check it and maybe they can escalate it and see if it would be covered.

I agree, you should contact them. They set parameters, of known issues, and they may need to extend the parameter they set. Good chance it will be covered. Back up camera is now considered a safety issue, and may have a longer warranty mandated.

Bryan, did you ever get a
Can I also get that picture ([email protected]) My truck is having the same issue 900 miles from home. I put my truck in the shop before this vacation and they said they repinned the little green harness with white plugs under the driver side dash panel. I went 2 weeks with no problems and about 600 miles into my roadtrip it came back on. figured I would try and fix it myself this time. I am based out of Oklahoma City so I can take it to Landers if needed, but I have been using Joe Cooper in Yukon because I really trust my service advisor there.

*Update here*

I had problems with the “service shifter” , “park sense temporarily unavailable” and a few others of it auto shifting into park and auto shifting into neutral at low speeds. This would happen during hot weather. The problem looks to be the replacement of the Star Connector part (central point of the module).

There was a re-call and mine was actually recalled, but on the recall it says “ABS” comm problem. So I will keep everyone updated on if this recall fixes the alarms on the dash.

I had all the same issues as Jeffrey_Sasquatch, the service gear selector actually temporilly stranded me on a boat launch. Loaded the boat and put in drive and as soon as I let off the brake the knob would roll back to park and engage the parking brake, this went on for about 10 minute, turn the truck off, open door, restart and same thing, did finally got the boat out of the water and off the ramp. The gear selector thing went away and hasn't reared its ugly head but the park sense thing is now permanent. Haven't had park sense for months. I work for a CDJR dealer and I talked to a tech and he said there are 2 large connectors on the left side rear of the truck that have been experiencing corrosion problems. Its winter now so I'm not playing with it right now, in the spring I will disconnect the connectors and inspect. I will try to remember to update.
