Order Tracking

Sounds like you are making some progress. When did you order? When did they assign a VIN?
Ordered 10/26, VIN 11/1. I only inquired for the first time today, so its possible to have been sitting in this status for some time.

Good morning all, seen folks sharing experience with RamChat...here was their response on my 10/26 order...am I at square one still, or has there been some progress?

Thank you so much for holding, I appreciate your patience. I am showing as of 12-2-2021, all of the materials needed to start the build process have been received and your vehicle is waiting for its turn in the assembly line. The vehicle will be entering the build process very soon. At this time, we can suggest checking back end of week for an update. Congratulations again on the purchase! We appreciate having you in the RAM family!
I got this response once, then it regressed. My dealer never saw it move to D1.

There's really no telling what would hold up an order. There's probably not a part on your truck that someone hasn't blamed for being the reason for a late build. It's a bit comical, to be honest. It's one thing for forum members to randomly discuss this kind of stuff, but I keep hearing of dealers saying the same things.
I've seen certain packages go on restriction one day, then be available the next day. And it also appears that some dealers are seeing a restriction at the same time that other dealers can order a package.
Order is still not in due to the 3.92. Below is the response from the dealership this morning:

No the order is not in yet as I was waiting to hear on the 3.92. My Ram Rep got back to me this morning and the 3.92 is removed from ordering due to Test Weight Class Compliance Issues. It has been removed from all Trim Levels with no ETA as to when it will be available again. So you have 3 options;

1) I can place the order without the 3.92
2) If the 3.92 is a required option, I can put you on a waiting list and once it is available for ordering again, let you know and place the order then.
3) Refund the deposit back.

I think the chart that triple_B posted yesterday says it all. They are allocating the scarce parts (options) to the high-end units. BSM is standard on the Limited, so they’re not going to waste any of these parts on a “low end” Big Horn until 100% of the allocated Limited’s are built.
So you can feel a little better, they have not allocated any toward my limited as of today while watching others enjoy theirs. Six months of waiting for me, others waiting even longer. 🙁

Wow this is nuts. That should slow down orders considerably. (which could be a good thing for some of the older orders "waiting for parts")

Something feels off about that. We have been seeing 3.92's coming off weekly. Below are 2 WS's from just last Friday. I am sure triple_b and eighty could back it up with more numbers. If it was a compliance issue they would have to likely put a stop build on all of them, not just new orders being placed. It feels to me more of a parts shortage issue. But something just doesn't seem right about what he is telling you.

Might be worth asking. Heard a few people on here say that they’re still delivering them with the 3.92 but this morning I got the message that they couldn’t accept my order. Since the reason was “Test Weight Class Compliance Issues” I wanted to share. Hopefully someone will be able to get to the bottom of this. I’ve been looking online all morning and don’t see anything.

I would request they show you like a service bulletin or something to back up their statement. Have you also tried talking to another dealer, even if it isn't one you planned to go with and they might be outside of your range. But if what they are telling you is true, you should get the same answer from another dealer.

My dealer just tried putting together a build with 3.92, and it went fine. He said there were no notifications, and he was able to apply it.

I just asked him if he could check again. The dealer is Koons of Tyson. I see them all over the forum and seem to be a really reputable volume dealer.

If 3.92 was or is a problem, what happens to all the rebel orders that only come with 3.92?
Not thinking there was a problem. I sent him some of the remarks from this thread and now he can order it, although the price has now increased by $1000. Either way my truck is supposed to be order now. Sorry that the dealer put everyone though this scare.

No problem. I would be looking into why it all of a sudden costs more.

He said Ram raise their prices this morning. The base price was $800 higher, and the Laramie level 2 price was like $200 higher
The TRX forum is reporting that the base MSRP for a TRX just went up by $2300!!

damn...I recently was considering adding to my order..but decided against it when told that pricing could change. And Eighty said same thing about TRX Base price going up as well. Crazy times for car buying.

Good Luck!! Glad the dealer seems to still be doing best they can.

Spoke with the dealership today. They are just as confused as to what builds are prioritized. They had identical TRXs ordered on the same day, August 15th, one has already been delivered and one is still in the scheduling phase. I was told my truck will supposedly be built the week of January 3rd and the dealership expects to receive it beginning to mid February. If that’s the case, that would be about 6-7 months since the order date.

I was told they are waiting on the chip for the trailer break controller and a main cpu chip.
