I ordered my truck on 12/16/20. I just chatted with Ram Cares. The guy said he cannot see the build codes any more, only a description. My status right now shows all of the materials needed to start the build process have been received. He said ping back in 2-3 weeks for an update.

Ordered: 1/20/2021
VON/VIN received

God I hope it doesn't take 3 months to get.

After skimming through this thread, seems the easiest wat to check status is to stick my VIN to this url?

If the truck has been built I'll see the sticker. No need to contact dealer or RAM chat.

Is this correct?
You'll see it come up a day or two earlier with the build sheet: https://www.ramtrucks.com/webselfservice/BuildSheetServlet?vin=
I also had my window sticker show up on the Chrysler version of that link a day or two before it did on RamTrucks: https://www.chrysler.com/hostd/windowsticker/getWindowStickerPdf.do?vin= (I have no idea why).

My experience has been that the dealer has the best information, but I wasn't as willing to harass them as frequently as Ram Chat (expecting to take delivery of my truck, ordered on 11/21/2020 this weekend).

Fying pissed.... So ordered 11/27 Delivered 12/20.

Knew it was shipped but sales guy dropped the ball in letting know the Bighorn was coming in yesterday. Sales guy was out... His normal day out... Truck has 18 miles on it! Pissed someone or multiple people took this out.

Can get ideas of how many miles on others deliveries

Some of these vehicles from the factory go through an extended QA check. This isn't uncommon. We've heard of them having close to 100 miles on them when built for the JGC.

If that's the case, I'd be mad too, but like the guy above me said, could be a multitude of reasons, QA people at the factory driving it, transport people driving it, other consumers looking at, and/or your dealer, (definitely should not be the case for those last 2, unless just filling it up/moving it or doing their PDI). My thoughts are you really shouldn't have more than 5-10 miles on it, but I guess anywhere from 25-100 is "normal".

10 miles on ours at delivery with 4 hours of idle time and 0 hours of drive time.

Hmm... they keep telling my mine is "D" status, because they're still waiting on parts, they're not available yet...

I asked if it was in "D" status or not.

"Great question! We unfortunately do not have status codes at customer care. This is the stage where we are waiting for all of your parts and materials to arrive. Once this happens the vehicle will then be scheduled for the build process.

Me
Ah ok, so it's not even in an official status then? Just "scheduling"?
1:07:52 PM
The vehicle does have a status however we do not have status codes anymore at customer care, your selling dealership may be able to provide you with the status code."

I think the difference, based on my responses from ram cares, is something along the lines of:
D = we confirmed we can get the parts and are in the process of scheduling them to be in the right location at the right time
D1 = parts are either on site or scheduled to be with confidence that the build can be scheduled to start

Is this something that you needed to sign up for to get updates from them?
