You received your 2021 already? Mine was unloaded off the train 3 days ago, still waiting for it to find its way to my dealer. Regarding price protection, are you just talking about MSRP or are you also saying orders that got switched aren't eligible for 2020 rebates and financing deals either?

Ya I picked my 2021 up yesterday. I had ordered it as a 2020 back on June 19. They aren’t eligible for any 2020 rebates or financing even though was promised it would be. Chrysler has “changed their minds” and aren’t offering what they promised is what the rep told my dealer. Supposedly lots of angry people in US. Dealer had even written it down and they said it doesn’t matter. My dealer was pissed. Dealer is taking a big hit to keep me happy.
Where do you look online for these updates. What website ?
You will at least need to know your vin# which you should be able to get from your dealer or ram chat service. Once you have that you can go here:

Great looking truck! I ordered almost the exact same configuration but I got the off-road package so the rims will be different. Still waiting, assuming November delivery.
I kind of regret not getting off road pkg. I’ll probably get some after market 20” wheels and tires later, probably want a 2” lift as well
Cool. Not to rain on your parade, but rather to caution you against prematurely planning a road trip, mine hit D1 status 7.5 weeks ago and still hasn't arrived (getting real close though)
It means it has a VIN and they are still gathering parts to build it. You are correct that it doesn't have a scheduled build date. I've been in D status just over 3 weeks.
