Also overhead button too release tailgate not working now

Installed the latch and new harness for tailgate, had someone enable with AlfaOBD but get nothing in drive and this pops up in reverse. Needless too say something ain’t right lol

Which settings were changed in Alfa?

Don’t know where I didn’t make the changes. Hopefully change em back and start over I guess

CBC Config I/O: Connector F Pin 26 - Set to Yes
ECUConfig 4: Tailgate Ajar Indication - Set to Yes I know is what I needed and the ECUconfig 4: he’s sure was one and the other though was power lift gate I’m thinking or something along those lines anyway

Well, I flopped at the dealer. I installed everything, and today got a trailer brake controller and LED bed lights installed (they all work fine, and I bought all the parts for my year and model Ram). The dealership could not add the LAN sales code due to my truck's configuration. I do think they tried. I have been resisting getting AlfaOBD and related modules. Looks like I have to now if I want this to work.

Can any one confirm how many wires are in the wiring harness that is going from tailgate to the back of the truck. I have just 3 wires leaving the wiring harness. Thank you !

I’m hoping someone can answer for you more definitively. From memory, I remember seeing the same thing and thinking “hum, three wires at the end”. And then thinking perhaps the black is split somewhere in the harness to the latch and is shared. Also, since the third magenta wire matched the added wire in the new harness, I assumed this has to be ok. Does it work? I guess that is the ultimate answer.

I have not programmed mine. I just purchased all the goodies to program it and I haven’t received everything yet.

That shows for right now, but if you click on your name to the right of search, there is a line for signature. You can custom fill info so on future posts, people will know about your truck. List as little or as much as you want, and you can change it like I had too.

Still trying too figure out why overhead button too release tailgate isn’t working? Downloaded too google drive and just wondering if this setting could be my problem.

That setting should be set to “Trunk”.

Ok thanks I’m a newbie I’ll change that and this is what I’m getting now in drive and then reverse is this correct?
