No lane sense after windshield replacement

Had my windshield replaced and tinted last week. Ever since I picked it up, the lane departure feature defaults to off and gives me a message to see dealership. Auto glass company swears they never unplugged anything. The tint was cut around the camera, so i don't think that is it.

I had issues in the past where it would randomly turn off and back on while driving. Wondering if a calibration is needed?

I think I remember reading in the owners manual that you can reset the lane guidance camera, and should, when replacing the mirror or windshield. Not 100% positive, but check there as there was something about the camera in the rear view mirror.

I read about a near head on collision because of a windshield replacement not being recalibrated. Steered the vehicle out of the lane into oncoming traffic.

How could the collision warning system impact the steering and force the vehicle into oncoming traffic??? I am unaware of the system impacting the steering at all as this truck does not have that capability. I assume you are speaking of a non-RAM truck in this case as very few vehicles have the feature to impact steering.

The lane departure feature that will gently steer the vehicle back into your lane. I have it on my RAM.
The newspaper article I read this in was about a different vehicle but the same principle. If it's not calibrated properly it can steer you out of the lane.

I have that system too but it will NOT steer you out of your lane in a pending collision regardless of its calibration. Our trucks do not have that capability and only look at the lines in the road. You will know VERY quickly if you have a calibration issue long before a pending collision because your truck will not act as designed with the lane departure turned on.

I will have to look into that. The auto glass shop had never heard about it needing re-calibrating. Seems to me they need to get with the times. I am assuming the system will default to "off" if it senses a calibration is needed?

The windshield was replaced in my wives Mazda CX-9 with the same features and it needed to be re-calibrated by Safelite. I suspect yours does, too.

Subaru windshields are the same and the owners manual states that it must be recalibrated after replacement.

Hi campbell,
We understand why this may be concerning. We suggest having your dealer inspect this concern if you have not done so already. We are also available via private message if you would like any additional assistance during that process.

I am assuming that this will have to be paid out of pocket to get it re-calibrated?

Two windshields within a week. One had a blem so safelite replaced. Dealer Recalibrated both. No charge. Safelite makes you sign a warning you know the Lane departure is out of service. Apparently safelite will have the codes to recalibrate the 2019s by now. They didn't have them when I did my windshield. It cost glass shops like 30k for a calabration device. Probably why some don't calabrate

I have had to replace the windshield on my 15 durango and 16 infiniti. Both times my insurance company told me I had to have the camera re calibrated. They reimbursed me for both once done at dealer.
