New UConnect 5 12" Install - Backup Camera Problems

Edit that line so it reads 6201484054021C550A1512.
Then, perform the restore configuration from backup file using that new edited backup file.
After that, reboot the radio twice in a row by pressing and holding the power button on the left radio knob for 15 seconds.

That didnt seem to work.
As soon as I did the restore, i started hearing a thumping come from the speakers.. faintly. Audio doesnt work.
I'm restoring back to previous now.

Any other suggestions?
Try this instead:
Connect to body computer > car configuration change > Radio & Connectivity > Head Unit Screen Size > change it to R1 12.3’ 1920x720.

Then reboot the radio twice.
Set the gridlines to dynamic, and verify they work, then make sure to shut truck off and restart and check again to make sure they stay.

My understanding is you only need to update the BCM model year if you have surround view camera. I honesty don’t know all that much about it and can’t take credit for the fix, I just know that it worked for me with zero issues and screen works exactly as it should. Give it a try. Worst case change it back if it causes you any issues.
it seems that might be correct for 2019 models(can’t say for 2020), but that is not the case for 2021’s unfortunately. On my truck the BCM has to be set to the year of the radio module or the backup camera will not work at all and I do not have the surround view system. Just adding this info so if someone having issues with s 21 or newer comes across this thread.

Go into the alfaobd settings and check the box for do not verify ECU.
When you connect to the body computer, choose DT 2022+ powernet.
The setting is in car configuration change-
Radio & Connectivity: Head Unit Screen Size

Sorry it took so long, this didn’t work. It appears to have done nothing.

Not sure what else you have going on. That’s definitely the setting that makes the grid lines work again (assuming you turned them back on in the radio settings).

No, my gridlines work. I thought we were trying to get the zoom options to show up.
Make sure you set VehConfig 1: Model Year to 2022.
Double check Radio & Connectivity: Digital Rear View Camera Present and make sure it is set to yes.
Reboot the radio twice.

I have a 2022 2500 Tradesman i upgraded radio to an 8.4 i want the gridlines turned on. Can someone tell me the steps from start to finish? I have alpha. I feel like my 5” had the gridlines but now i cant remember but feel like my 2022 should have them.
