New icon appeared. Shopping, games, geocaching

Previously I was able to click on the icon to bring up the apps page which would dismiss the icon so I could see the song title again. The past couple of days when I click on it, nothing happens. Such a dumb update.

@RamCares no one wants this icon. Get rid of it please, and make android auto full screen ffs. one of the biggest disappointments with this 100k vehicle. The damn system runs android, how is it not natively supported????

I'm upset that they had no problem implementing Ads that are Full screen but can't make Android Auto Full screen. I work for an Aerospace Company and if this kind of crap happened, we would be partnering with the other company to find a solution for issues that customers are annoyed with.

My work inbox begs to differ. Hardly a week goes by without a crazy warning about mandatory iPhone updates. 15K employees and I've not seen a single alert re: Android. My cranky old reliable S9 is not even on intune or company managed.

never really get those mandatory iphone updates. sure, i get notified for the update but nothing happens if i don't lol maybe that's a corporate "fleet' type of thing.

my old androids just get slower and slower... annoys the hell out of me especially when I gotta run navi and do pre-runs to note campsites and stuff.

It’s odd that I’m not having the same issue y’all are having, but once that icon showed up I’m getting the Satellite Hardware Error message and have to reboot the radio ……………… every time I start the truck. Urrrgggg! Something got pushed OTA to our Uconnect systems with that damn icon/app crap.

I have had the same issue. RAM UConnect posted a procedure to try and fix this issue. I ran the UConnect procedure, and it fixed the issue. It is definitely a software issue. The UConnect procedure is on the forum.

You‘re having the satellite hardware error Issue? This is my experience with Uconnect and SXM. This was a few days ago.

Had a phone conversation today with a Uconnect rep who was assigned to my case. They are aware of the issue and says that it is not a Uconnect problem. They recommended that I contact SXM. I then spoke with a SXM rep and they sent a signal refresh and then had me perform a factory reset on the radio. He started going into a speech about how there could be a wiring or other hardware issue in the truck. I interrupted him and told him that if it was one or two vehicles that it might be a possibility. But, with the number of vehicles having the exact same issues, that all started at the same time debunks his argument. No way that tons of vehicles produced the exact same issue at the exact same time, and it’s a hardware issue. Software was updated that caused the issue. It’s all over the internet. Imagine how many people are having the issues that are not on forums. Hopefully this works.

May have found a partial solution to the marketing app shortcut appearing in the top bar.

Go into Apps/System/Notices and delete all notices that appear.

I had 2 Sirius XM notices that I deleted. That was 3 days ago and I have not had the link appear since. Before the link would reappear every day.

It absolutely fixed it for me. Before deleting the notices I would remove the short cut by opening it only to have it reappear, without fail, the very next day. Drove the truck again this morning and it still did not reappear after 4 days.

This worked for me. Started the truck a couple times today bopping around town, and the icon never popped up. Thanks for sharing!

Same for me. Zero notices and the tile still there at the top mocking me.

It will stay there until you remove it. Click the icon to open the marketing junk then navigate back to the home screen and the icon should be gone. Once it's gone, verify you have no notices.
