Thanks, what does this warranty cover? I spoke briefly with my dealership, I asked about the extended warranty as it relates to the rear window issue. He called me back after he spoke with his service manager and said it would not cover the rear windows leaking issue and he ( service manage) could not locate any information on any leaking rear windows and they have never had any customer report this issue. It goes without saying I'm confused.
This has been my experience...I think they are wrong, it should be covered, but there is no higher power to force the issue (short of lawyering)

You can put in whatever mileage on the zeigler quote site and get the price. It might go up after 36k so be sure to check it out before then.

After you reach 3 years 36K miles the warranty starts from the day you purchase it instead of backdating to the day the truck was bought. It is the same warranty but is generally more expensive than if you buy prior to the basic warranty expiring (no gaps in coverage).

The longer the policy the larger the price difference. Just taking a quick peek at Zieigler's site and the 6 year / 80K miles / $200 deductible plan is about $400 cheaper than if you waited until 36,001 miles and bought a 3 year / 36K miles / $200 deductible plan.

Keep in mind that there is an additional cost "penalty" after 12K miles and 24K miles for waiting to purchase (you are already at 34K+ miles) so that adds to the price too and may be about the same or more than if you waited to purchase after the basic warranty is up. The longer the policy you want the larger the price gap between pre- and post-basic warranty.

You don't have to buy from them but I recommend you go to Zeigler's site (https://www.chryslerfactoryplans.com/) and put in your details and run a quote for 35K miles and a quote for 37K miles and see what the price difference is to make sure you are getting the better deal for your situation.

Just remember to add 3 years (and the appropriate miles you've driven per year) to the policy for the 35K mile quote as it backdates to the day the truck was bought whereas the 37K quote will start the day you would purchase it.

I might regret it due to later tech issues but with 11k on the 2019 and zero issues I’m rolling the die. Every vehicle is different, so comparing mine to some other Ltd is fairly pointless. Same with comparing the RAM to my current Ford suv, which never needed anything from the $1700 extended warranty.

If I had any problems in the first 6-7K I’d have been much more likely to have bought a factory extended warranty.

With our low usage, we run out of time wayyy before we run out of miles.

All warranties are a gamble. You are betting that there will be problems past the 3/36 that are covered and they are betting that there won’t be. Guess who usually wins out?

I called Zeigler today and asked about their maximum plan and if it would cover the leaking glass problem and I was directed to a section on their site that said its not covered . Its still a sound plan. FYI

What’s Not Covered Under Maximum Care Plans

Virtually the only parts and labor not covered:
  • Maintenance services and items used in such services
  • Wear items (such as tires, manual clutch assembly, brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, belts, exhaust, and wipers)
  • Snow plows, winches and trailer hitches
  • Body and paint items, including soft trim
  • Glass and plastic lenses
  • Catalytic Converter, Particulate Filter, and Exhaust

Thx for checking this - guess the “body and paint items including soft trim” is a big category of excluded stufff.

I’m having a hard time deciding. This seems like a reasonable quote:
maxCare 7/85k, $200 deduct, 11k on a 20 Laramie 4WD, $1215 Ziegler.

my issue is, I never buy warranties, after my last experience ($2500 warranty on an RS6, and all I got out of that was $1300 covered).

as mentioned, the house usually wins...

whats tempting me is the somewhat sordid reputation and potential for higher mileage issues...

thoughts?

The eTorque battery is covered for 8/80k as it is an emissions control device.
But yes, I'm sure it will be an expensive replacement after that.

Yeah. Is the leather considered “soft trim”?

EXACTLY what was the price Robbins offered vs Zeigler's offering?

2965 for 8 year 0 deductible.
Want to see the email from Zeigler where they literally said they won't beat him?

And I quote "Thanks for the email. Unfortunately, we cannot match that price. If you have any questions, we will be available Monday morning at 8am EST 269.685.3557"

Robbins in actuality appears to be the cheapest. Perhaps you should email Robbins -> [email protected]

Actually it is not. That's more "legal" crap than what it won't cover. It covers everything except wear and tear items for the most part.

Go to the MOPAR Warranty website and check it out. 99% of the truck is covered.

There’s always legal mumbo jumbo to protect themselves, not necessarily to deny any work on the policy.

They need an out when someone puts an 8” lift on and things start wearing out quickly, somebody jumps their TRX and nearly breaks it in half, or someone submarines their Jeep Rubicon and has electrical problems then takes it to the dealership to fix for free.

I’m not the one they are protecting themselves against. I don’t plan to go in for every little thing but if my engine takes a dump or my radio quits I’ll be there to cash in.

Just my .02

The difference was $50 between the two ($3015 vs. $2965) But its good that you were able to save $50 additional.
I have no desire to dispute the quote or contact Robbins, as I bought my ESP many months ago from Zeigler. I was just curious what your quote price was.
