Navigation malfunction?

I have a 1500 Dodge ram 2019 limited. Dropped it off at the dealer, because of a few recalls..whenever it picked it up the gps was malfunctioning.
The service department at the dealership apparently has never seen anything like it. I'm in Austin Texas however the GPS is saying I'm in Mexico. My GPS is saying I'm in a totally different location than where I am. Has anybody ever heard of anything like this?

Segachaos, Did you get this fixed? I am having same issue and both dealer and Ram Care don’t care enough to fix it. Dealer says radio needs to be replaced but FCA won’t authorize while Ram Care states it needs a software update yet to be developed so no ETA. Please let me know if/how it was fixed. Thanks

Hi Everyone! If you're still experiencing this concern it sounds like your Uconnect system needs to be updated. The files for software level 18.45.01 are currently available on driveUconnect.com. I would recommend checking if this update is available for your vehicle. If so, you will be able to download the software to a USB and update your vehicle at home. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you - I currently have 18.45.40 - navigation freezes a lot - is there another update expected?

This "needs a software update, which we're working on" excuse is simply a catch-all for whatever they want to use it for. If they can't fix their ****, open the API and provide an SDK for those of us that will fix it for you. They know the aftermarket will point out all the issues, correct them and enhance it by 100X, making them look bad so they don't open it up. A very poor way of doing business. Hopefully, someone will figure it out anyway, unlock it and let us fix the problems ourselves.

I have had it happen a couple of times where I start up and drive somewhere and through the entire drive, the nav still shows me sitting at wherever I started from. It never updates my position. Each time, after shutting off the truck and starting it again, it started working again.

But, other than that, I have never had it show me as actually being somewhere different than where I really was.

But, other than that, I have never had it show me as actually being somewhere different than where I really was.
That is the same thing my truck has done. Then we traveled out of town and it showed us still parked at my employment the entire trip.

I’ve seen this behavior after performing a search using nav. It stays on the position the truck was in when I started my search. Then I found that if I tap on the nav arrow (I believe) on the left hand side of the screen, it returns to the moving map showing my current position. Could be what you’re experiencing too.

Then I found that if I tap on the nav arrow (I believe) on the left hand side of the screen, it returns to the moving map showing my current position. Could be what you’re experiencing too.

I'm talking about starting the truck and immediately starting to drive. I.e. without touching the Nav at all.

I don't have navigation on my 8.4 screen so I use my IPhone and car play and it works great. No need to have to do updates either lol
And it comes up on the screen and tells you the directions also.

I've had this happen to. When I had it in the dealer, I added this to the work order. Of course, no trouble found but wanted it documented.

I could check my current software, but that wouldn't tell us anything. I have no idea if my software has been updated since the last time I experienced this problem. In other words, I have no way to know what software level I had at the time of the last occurence of this problem.

If it happens again, I will note the software level then and get back to you.
