Mark Dodge Thread

How many years of protection?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
5 years. But you have to hand wash. Not possible for me in minnesota in the winter. So I’m getting is as an extra level of detailing, maybe some paint correction.

if they'd advertise what their ceramic coating and ppf covered and durability...they'd probably sell more of it

He tells me which product it is I just can’t remember. And obviously if you’re in New York or Minnesota the warrant is not worth anything. So I knew all that. I’m still not mad at the offer.

To me, that tailgate almost looks like it’s not fully closed. I have to slam mine pretty hard to fully close.

Finally stopped raining and the sun came out and on my first stop found this huge scratch on the driver back door. Did not see this at all when the truck was wet. That kinda ruins my day. Have to send that to Aaron to see what they say.

If I close it normally it has those huge gaps if I slam it close it’s a lot less but still has the gaps on each side, just not as much

I remember when I ordered my Camaro...the day I got it in, it looked like someone had left a drink on the back racing stripe and you could see the circle....boy was I mad...

Not to understate the frustration level of getting a scratched vehicle, but this appears to be a shallow one in the clear coat. It should be cleared up with a compound and polish. Probably take the dealership an hour to fix.

The center of the scratch looks like it went all the way through the paint. I’ll show it to the detail department at my job and see what they say about it if anything I’ll pay them to fix it see what MD says. I know it’s kind of hard to put blame on them after I’ve already left. Just wish I could’ve seen the truck at the dealer when it was dry but since it was pouring rain was almost virtually impossible.

My approach to MFT was to close it from the lower half of the tail gate and use the momentum of the door. You don’t want to habitually slam it as I think that caused my door to fall of alignment and rub against each other. The door eventually wears in.

that sucks man, sorry to hear it. If it went through to the paint, you're looking at a much bigger job. Sorry!

He doesn’t list MFT in his sig. I was assuming normal tailgate. Mine had a similar gap when I picked it up, but the tailgate just wasn’t fully closed. It takes a pretty good shove to fully latch it.

When I test drove a half ton limited locally, the salesman struggle shutting the tailgate. It wasn’t MFT. He kept slamming shut and eventually it did.

Yeah it’s just a regular tailgate. I did notice that if I close it without any force it has the huge gaps in there. If I close it with a little more force then the gaps go away this is what it looks like with a little more force. Looks pretty much like my 21 did. I don’t ever remember my 21 having this issue though. You would think Ram could make the tailgate close flush.

Not gonna cry over spilled milk. I understand **** happens. I did speak to Aaron and he said he would take care of it. Very stand up guy. Told him I would let my detail department at my job look at it either tomorrow or Monday and see what they say. If they can easily fix it then no big deal. If not then I’ll go from there.

You really can tell the guy is genuine. And he’s like “we wanna make sure things are 100%, and when they’re not we wanna make sure you’re happy”

cevans, sorry I missed you at Mark Dodge this morning. I got to Mark Dodge right as the rain stopped and so I was able to give my truck a very careful look over and I am quite happy with everything it looks perfect. Mark Dodge is everything they are advertised to be. I would buy from these guys again in a heartbeat, and I probably will anyway. Everything went smoothly as promised even though the truck sat at their dealership for 2 weeks before I was able to pick it up just because they are so backlog. For you guys that are waiting I promise you the wait is worth it and you will be happy with the service that you receive. These guys are a real pleasure to deal with. Just drove the truck 10 hours to get back to Springfield Missouri and it performed flawlessly getting 22 miles a gallon on the interstate.

cevans, Sorry to hear about your issues. I plan to fly & drive back to central Florida. What route are you taking home? Are you driving easy for the 1st 100 miles due to break in?
