That’s really disappointing. I’m sorry. The alignment issue should be an easy fix but yeah it shouldn’t have made it off the line.

Yikes there does seem to be an issue with that tailgate. That over spray would drive me nuts. This is when I say the high daily production volume can increase the risk of quality suffering. Those issues should have been easy to spot even with a quick glance at the factory. I hope something can be done for you.

If you can I'd turn around and show MD.
I’m already on my way home. I will reach out to Aaron once I get back home. The overspray I’m sure can easily be buffed off. I won’t blame them for the tailgate gaps because my 21 had gap issues just not as bad. It pouring rain this morning made it little more challenging to really inspect the car at the dealer.

It is to say the least. I kind of feel that whoever did the PDI should’ve easily caught the overspray on the back of the bed and said something to somebody. But again I’ll bring it up to Aaron once I get back and see how they can handle it.

I’m not excusing any of this but I’ve had alignment issues with trim pieces on a brand new $125k Mercedes. Dealer fixed it all. I get the human error or negligence. I’m a bit disappointed MD didn’t pick it up with their PDI and makes me nervous that I’m probably having it shipped.

Tbh my biggest fear with buying so far out of state is local dealer service being not great. I thought about it before ordering then remembered most dealers sales department usually don’t give a crap after you drive off the lot. They may lean on service but they usually aren’t that much help.

I remember 10 years ago leasing a brand new Honda Crosstour, the pregnant looking accord thing. I was one of 20 people in the country that got one. Anyways this is a $35k vehicle at the time one of the most expensive Honda sells. I brought it back to the same dealer I bought it from due to clicking sounds in the interior door card. They couldn’t figure out what’s wrong with it in 4 appointments and ended up telling me to turn up the radio so I don’t hear it. I remember being so mad. It was the most expensive car I’d ever owned (leased). Had many other issues with different Honda dealers in other states too and swore off the brand.

With my C7 Stingray I had tons of issues with local dealers. Bought it from a volume dealer for sticker when locals were racking on market adjustment. Cars great. Local dealers not so much. That part of the issues people now are complaining about the Z06 starting at $105k that you’re still getting the “fantabulous” dealership experience.

Im curious how dodge/ram customer service was when they were selling Vipers for almost $200k.

Still a mean looking beast Cevans with that black front. I’m not a silver lover but on Rams it just looks classy. I hope they fix everything and you have many happy miles.

Yeah I was considering going again with the granite crystal metallic, but I kind of thought that silver would look a little better. Overall I’m happy with the truck, you know just the gaps and the overspray is minor stuff. I work at a dealership and have seen the quality coming out of the factory on the new cars so it’s not like I’m real shocked.

Just picked up my truck from Mark Dodge about 20 min ago I have to say I’m a little disappointed in the quality from the factory on this one. Huge tailgate gaps when you close it, spray in bedliner overspray on the right side bed. It was pouring rain when I got here this morning so it was really hard to inspect the vehicle at the dealer. Sales people were all in a meeting so I’m assuming one of the Porter‘s had brought it underneath the service drive which is extremely small so Had to drive down the road to a gas station so I could pull under neath the overhead to inspect everything. Once I get a little ways from here and it starts to clear up and the truck dries out I’ll be able to look at it a little better.
Nice looking truck! i wish I'd have been able to get the 6'4" bed, but that option wasn't open to me.

Yeah I would certainly not be happy about the overspray of bedliner or the tailgate being off by so much. The overspray can be managed with a bit of polishing but that tailgate may require more tweaking. hopefully you can get it fixed!

What I find interesting about it is how many people this truck would’ve gone through and nobody said anything about the overspray. Do They not inspect the truck after all the accessories are installed at the factory? I guess there must not be any QC at the factory. I would’ve thought the PDI tech would’ve noticed this and said something. I haven’t had a real good chance to look at the tailgate. Ever since I left MD and for the past hour it’s just been nonstop rain so I really want the truck to dry out so I can look at it a lot better. Just hoping I don’t find some type of evidence of damage to the rear for the gaps to be that large.

Wish I could of met him. I got there right when they opened and they were all in a meeting. Really just wanted to get in and out so I can get on the road to get back home. Every time I spoke to him on the phone he just sounded like a real genuine guy. I’ve worked in this industry a long time and have met some real piece of **** people throughout the years and he just came across as a real genuine guy not trying to ******** you.

100%

He told me they have 500 vehicles currently on their lot. Over 200 presold that need to get PDI, finance, shipping and all that. There are so many hours in the day.

In regards to factory defects, they’re told by Stellantis to have the dealership local to the customer fix it. Stellantis also wants MD exclusively to fix shipping damage. For whatever reason they’re picky about what gets done where.

That’s why I really didn’t stick around to show Aaron or anybody else any of the issues. Everything I found was issues that happened at the factory so any dealer should be able to take care of it.

My truck had some specks of over spray as well. I just used my finger nail and they pop off.

You're driving your truck home almost exactly one year after we did. And we got that same non-stop rain. Must be a summertime, Gulf Coast thing.

Yeah mine is right over the PPF. I started to try to pick it off and then I was like you know what I don’t really wanna damage this PPF. Also a little bit on the paint. I’ll mess around with it more when I get home

I’m paying for their ceramic coat, not for anything but at least I can get them to detail the exterior and fix these things. I can’t not use a car wash up here north of the wall. When it’s -15 and frosty I can barely wash my a** by hand not going to scrub down my daily. So I know whether I pay 2 grand or not it’s gonna get ruined by the auto car wash
