Can a progressive spring be cut and normal spring cutting practices apply? With a normal spring, 1 at the spring equals 2 at the truck. This is not meaning coils. If you stand the spring up and measure the height, say it’s 15”, if you wanna the truck to drop 1”, you take the tape and go around the spring until you reach the part of the spring where it measures 14.5” tall. That’s where you would cut. 1/2” of spring cut off is 1” on the truck.

Thanks! I talked with Rob at Accessory Partners and he told me .5" for every full coil you cut. That did not seem exactly right to me.... im liking your plan, im going to start with a half coil.

With these springs being progressive it’s different. Typically it’s 1 at the spring equals 2 at the truck. Meaning stand up spring and measure free height, I’d its 18” than to get 1” drop you you measure the height of the top coil to where it’s 17.5”. That’ll give you 1” drop. BUT, the top 3 coils fully compress when in truck so to get a 1” drop you cut the spring at the 17” height. I cut 1/4” off mine thinking it’ll give me 1/2”, nope, it gave me 1/4” drop.

Did you notice any change in ride quality? One of the biggest selling points for me on this truck is how well it rides, and lack of bed bounce like the competition has... I’m still torn on leveling up or down because I may go off road, but I’m limited on up due to the dumb Sirius antenna hitting my garage if I level up and go too big on tires, and also hate to buy tires for a lease as opposed to just removing coils if/when I turn it back in.

I bought these through Accessory Partners.
Part number is 272920
They only cost me $148.14 shipped.
Made in USA and are a great 2" progressive lowering spring.
Thanks for the kind replies, I think the truck looks much better.

Just pulled the trigger and snagged them today, same price for me. Reviews on their website were outstanding and most said ride was unaffected.

I'd really love to do this and lower the rear down too, but I had to level the front up instead because of the width of my wheels & tire size. Love the way this looks on your guys trucks, though.

Just did mine... I’m sure it has to settle a bit still, I just went around the block. Looks like I have about 2 inches of clearance on the bump stops, so I may trim them if it settles much lower so I don’t smack them over bumps.

Installed last night. Will post pictures soon. Did not get the full level that I was expecting. Another inch would be satisfactory. The removal and install was simple. Take the wheels off, unbolt the sway bar and shock. Lift the truck up from the pumpkin high enough for the springs to decompress. Lift up from the bottom coils and pull it out. Install dampener on new spring, seat the top of the spring, Lift up from bottom and set in place. Do not follow the guy from YouTube. Blocks, jack stands are not needed unless working on an incline.

The more I look at mine the more I think it's still leaning a smidget. I need to measure on different surfaces. I measured on a couple and it's exactly even from side to side. Looking at work it looks to be leaning looking at top of my tailgate. That bugs me. lol

I've done 4 of the 5th Gens and I've only had to remove the lower shock bolts and life them up high enough that the tires are about to come off the ground and I can pull the springs out.
But I guess every truck is different.
I didn't unbolt my sway bar either, springs came out with ease just by unbolting shocks.

Those springs give the Ram an amazing stance! Looks like my decision has been made.
