Lifetime Warranty?

@RamCares So I ordered on 11/26. I received a VIN yesterday. I called to order lifetime maxcare today and was told its not possible. Can you elaborate on what you mean by "place a contract on file" and what that does for me? Does that mean I need to order warranty from selling dealer?
According to this post by RamCare, it's possible with your dealer.

Not sure how since your VIN isn't in the database yet to purchase the warranty. Also, calling Mopar Vehicle Protection, they say you can't buy the warranty before taking delivery of the truck.

Hello All ,

My apologizes for miss speaking.

After speaking with our Reps from MVP this would have only been possible if the Lifetime was purchased at the time of the vehicle order, not after the fact. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused..

Please send me a PM when you receive your vehicles.. Please quote this message in the PM.

@RamCares - Does anyone purchase Extended Warranty during vehicle order? My dealer certainly didn't mention it although they warned me of the "mandatory presentation (referring to extended warranties)" when I pick up the vehicle. Trying to work with the dealer today but haven't been able to get in touch with right folks yet.

If you figure this out please let me know. I’m in same situation. I asked my dealer about placing contract on file. He didn’t know what I was talking about.

@Ram'dit - I'll post but so far I haven't been able to reach the right people. I keep hearing they'll call me back in 15 but no response. #Frustrating :(

Thanks for the heads up. I just spoke to Clay at Clay Robbins and it is $2590 for the $200 deductible and $2950 for the $100 deductible. He advised today is the last day for the lifetime. I purchased the $200 deductible.

Just under the wire.....whew.

This all doesn't make since to me. You don't have a VIN for several days after ordering and you need the VIN to write up the contract. They're saying you need to write up the warranty at ordering, without a VIN, but those that placed an order and are trying to get the warranty before delivery are just out of luck? Plus who purchases a warranty at the time of ordering a vehicle? This all didn't really come out until late last week and it wasn't until this week that FCA finally said yes we are ending lifetime warranties.

They should do something to allow those that have trucks on order to still purchase a lifetime warranty. I doubt it will happen, but that's what should be done.

Hello gmab,

From what Im being told from MVP; Yes that is a common practice for some dealers, so it can all be listed on one bill of sale.

Can this plan be purchased in canada?

Hello Predfan,

Are referring to the Lifetime plan? From my understanding the lifetime has never been available in Canada, but all the other plans should be. To be sure please reach out to MVP Canada, they will be able to go into greater detail; 800-465-2001

I received a letter today from RAM Mopar that I may be eligible for the unlimited mileage plan. I purchased and took delivery of the truck in December. Has anyone else received this similar letter? I thought this lifetime warranty was a thing of the past. Just want to see if others have info before I call the 800 number.

They offer 6 and 7 year unlimited mileage plans, it no lifetime.

Just sprung for an 8 year 85000 mile warranty w/$100.00 deductible from Chrysler Warranty Direct for $1785.00. Wife and I recently retired, we purchased a 2019 Subaru Outback for her and don't expect to put a ton of miles on either vehicle.

I disagree. Warranty purchase options are typically done at time of delivery with finance manager. A VIN isn’t even available for the warranty application during build order!
No BoS is generated during build order. BoS is done by finance manager at time of delivery as incentives, rebates, etc change during build time. Who starts paying for a truck before it’s even been built, delivered or they have even seen it??
Also, extended warranties can be purchased any time during the initial 48 mo/48k time/mileage frame.

EXTENDED WARRANTY through Insurance Carrier - Geico. 7 years/100,000 miles for $210! ??

I am getting my insurance binder for the new arrival and Geico mentioned to me that I can purchase an Bumper to Bumper Extended Warranty through them of 7 years / 100,000 miles for $30 per year for either the 7 years or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first). I only drive about 8,000 miles a year, so going to definitely be the 7 years. So that's $210 for 7 years (really +2 years after FCA warranty). Does this sound too good to be true?? I saw people posting about buying extended warranties through FCA from a few dealers and they were $1,000 to $2,000+.

Does anyone have any experience with this?
How good is the coverage? FCA parts, dealers accept it?
Sounds way too good to be true, but is is Geico so they are reputable, and she said it is bumper to bumper.
