I've been noodling a solution for this too. My 2019's cam clarity is superior to my 2014's, but it is LOUSY in low light compared to the 2014. Where i am, night means blackout, and my driveway is a few hundred feet long.

Can pictures of the screen when reversing at night you could share with light on and off? Any tailgate clearance issues with it on the plate?

This might be my next add-on!

This is going to sound stupid. But did you have any difficulty removing the factory harness to plug in the curt unit? I fought with it for almost 15mins before I gave up. I could not figure out to unplug it lol.

These were the lights I was going to try out before splurging on something more expensive.

It took me a bit to get the factory harness off. Once I was able to get the top clip removed it came right off.

Light off and then when I put it in Reverse and the light comes on. It is raining so not the best pics.

Pics are below. No tailgate clearance issues at all.

Was it all plug n play with the 2 parts you have listed.... Just plug in on both the recepticle and back of the light? Or was there splicing required?

Plug and play with the t connection then you can either splice into the blue (positive reverse) and white (ground) wire on the 5 pin or you can buy the male end of the 5 pin and attach to that , that is what I did.

Gotcha. Was there a reason not to splice into the reverse light wires with the DuoTap included with the light bar? Seems clean and simple unless the wires are difficult to reach or you wanted the whole rig to be removable without a trace.

Wanted the option to remove without a trace. Plus I have seen other posts that say they have had some issues with adding lights to the Canbus circuits. This way I was guaranteed no issues.

Ah.... Nicely done. Thx for the tips.

Could I bother you for 1 more pic.... Of the completed assembly with harness plugged in, but without the light on.

This is it . That small yellow line above the license plate. The harness is all zip tied behind the bumper. I can try and get a pic of that tomorrow when it’s light outside.

OH, I thought you needed to plug into the trailor plug

Realizing now your harness has male and female and you put it "in line" behind the bumper. Been a long day and kids are running in circles in front of me. I got it now... Thx again!

Installed my VLEDS LPR. This helps the backup camera immensely at night. Used the Curt wiring harnesses with the 5 pin reverse light connection and it works great.

OK, 1 last question..... You knew I'd have another once I actually received the parts. Any tips on removing the factory 7-pin harness from behind the bumper without breaking the clips?

Patience, Lol. I did notice that if i worked the top clip first it was easier to take off.

Man that looks so much brighter in your pictures!! I think I'm going to order this as well.

I'm admittedly not handy with wiring, so I might be back asking questions as well. However, all I should need is the LPR light, and that Curt Trailer connector that was linked off of Amazon, correct?

Just installed the exact p/ns listed in the thread. Super simple. Super easy. Super clean. And 100% removable without a trace.

Let me add... worth every penny and the 30 minutes it took. Much brighter which also results in much clearer.
