License Plate Reverse light

I did LED bolt lights. Definitely brightened it up, clean look, and doesn't interfere with the tailgate.

That’s what I did. Just contact them and get an RMA number.

Cheers,

It fits on some trucks - like mine, now, with my new tailgate and bumper. Try it. If it rubs you can take it off and still return it.

It will come on when you back up a trailer that’s about it.
Alright so basically the curt connector is just a when in need plug, the 5 pin doesn’t take over the 7pin.

Yes the whole black piece needs to be removed.
Ahhhh! Do the silver clips have to just be pinched, or do the clips actually have to be removed before pulling on the plug? I'm an hour into this and can't get it.

There is a black push tab about 1 o’clock on the harness, behind the bumper, push that and wiggle back and forth and it pops off, ive never done it the silver clip way to push out of bumper

It seems like this solution is dead. Are there any newer mods to improve the weak reverse LED lights?

I just added a Xenon Depot XTR LP Reverse Light and used the Curt Mfg. T and 5 way plug. Works absolutely perfectly, fits perfectly and does NOT hit my tailgate. Finally able to see like a champ through the tinted windows AND in the rear view camera.

One word of caution, even though mine did not hit my tailgate, others have stated that the VLED version hits on some and not on others. If for any reason it is close, you can always lower your plate mounting holes a mounting bolt width and trim the bottom of your plate as others have mentioned.

In the end it will look the same and it works great!

I went with the Xenon Depot XTR LP Reverse Light because it appeared thinner that the VLED version, especially in the center of the bar. I am very happy.

Here are a couple pictures of the plate with the light and then one with the tailgate down so you can see the gap under the tailgate to the light. Hope this helps.

I replaced my stock back up lights with these:
They are much brighter than stock and work well for me.

Unfortunately, the bulbs are not replaceable for trucks with the OEM LED package.
