Everything I had read or watched prior to installing them said to remove the paint first, so I did that with a wire wheel brush attached to my drill. Super easy
That is what I found worked best. I was wondering if the paint was still an issue. I had a few that was a problem but it worked out eventually.

Does the APS use 3 mounting brackets as I read where some people say It uses two. Although it could be on a different truck as their reviews , not on this forum, don’t say what they have, which makes their reviews worthless. But I thought I would ask you.
It uses 3 brackets per side but only 2 of 3 of the screws on each bracket. Total of 6 screws used per side instead of the full 9 screws on each side. The APS do have a lil flex but never felt unsturdy. I've since replaced my APS (you can still see them in my sig). I've replaced them with another aftermarket brand I caught on sale for $90 which uses all 9 screws per side and there is zero flex. Will post pictures of the new ones later.

Installed today. Raptor Series 5” OE Style Black Oval Nerd Bars. Straight forward install. Took a hour or so. Factory studs didn’t need too much fussing with to clean up. Bars are plenty sturdy enough just hope the finish holds up to NorthEast winters.

Caught a wonderful sale early this year ICI FV3007. Rock sturdy and uses all oem studs per bracket. I have them tucked as high and forward as they will go. May adjust them lower and rearward in the spring.

Had them on my 18 F150, just bought new brackets. Not sure if I love them as much on my Ram ... might do some sort of trim piece to take away the appearance of such a large gap between the body

I'll grab some more later today. These are the one i had on my phone. They sit fairly flush with my tires from head on view. About 4ish inches of footspace. Wife approved as well!
I have been going back and forth between the rb20s and these d6s. Your pics sold me on the d6s. Thanks for posting!

They are OEM running boards from the factory. I tried to look them up on the mopar website but didn't find them, though. They were installed on my 21 Ram 1500 Laramie when I bought it. If you are near Knoxville I'll sell them to you for a decent price. Thinking of going with something a little different.

I'm also looking for information on these, and can't seem to find any...
Believe those are Mopar 82215301AC and want to get a set for my new Big Horn I just picked up. Going to talk to the dealer tomorrow since some mopar sites want to charge almost $300+ just to ship to Maine...

Picking up at dealer is a good idea. These are large and heavy for the "shippers". One dealer I talked to would not ship to my house as they had previous experience with damage in shipping. I purchased a pair and it suffered a small ding. I believe it was the last stop at my house by the Fed ex delivery person dropping the box on my steps. Not happy but I could live with the slight damage. I did not want to put the seller through the hassle also as it was good price and free shipping at the time. Prices seem to have dropped from 2018/2019 when availability was limited. Best wishes with your order.

westin 21-534705 5" oval wheel to wheel nerf bars.
the kit is missing hardware - like they dont send you enough. Whats listed is there and is accounted for per the parts list item list, but its short 2 washers for what you need to actually install them.
And - The hanger that goes under the bed doesnt fit to my liking. westin and i are arguing about it right now. i dont think its correct.
their instructions damn sure arent correct.

There was something funky with my Westin brackets too... Brackets were labeled (stamped) incorrectly and had to flip them from what the lame instructions said to do.

thats exactly what i told the dude. i opened a ticket with westin support, which they closed with no answer. Then i opened another one, which is still open...so far.
The instructions trail off at the installing the brackets part, go figure. and the hangers rub unless you flip them P and D, but then the lower holes dont line up well to the oval bar.

thats exactly where im at right now. and hanging the brackets under the bed were kind of a pain. i like how the bars look though.

Purchased from Carid a Westin bed mat that was not a good fit. Neither responded to my emails, done with both. Well, except to give them the zero star rating.
