Let’s see your Dogs!

Wow, Adelaide looks very much like Buckles. The hair on her legs and tail look longer but that face is spot on.
Funny because I didn't know ACD's could be primarily black until I met a lady who bread them. She had two pups that were black. Until then I thought they were either "blue" or "red". I did an online search afterward and saw a lot of black ones. Who knew.
Having had a GSD, I'm inclined to agree with the vet on Adelaide. That posture, and her torso definitely look Shepard like. I can certainly see where you got Dobbie though, from the markings. Turns out those brown patches on the legs, chest, eye brows and ears are typical of the ACD too though.

Cute ACD pup for reference ↓↓↓

Buckles rides in my truck every where I go. She rides so often I made her a "dog deck." Somewhere on the forum there's a thread about them, so I'm not the only weirdo to do it. :D
Not the best photo, but it shows the general concept.

..... The herding instinct is certainly strong in that breed and everything needs to be herded!
Yeah they herd nonstop, even when they sleep
Seriously!!! I had no idea they were that focused on herding. Buckles, even though she'd old and doesn't get around as easy as she once did, still herds everything and every one. She "herds" my wife as they're headed out back. In true Heeler fashion Buckles mouths her heels/ankles, which she's done from day one.
I always though the GSD was going to be the one with the biggest herding instinct but she only herded the kids running around the yard. She'd work them into a corner (by blocking them and/or leaning on them) and then stand guard in front of them. Quite funny to watch actually, as they'd slowly be guided into a group without realizing what was going on. The ACD is much more obvious about the herding technique and does it constantly. Not just when it's kids running/playing outside. She herds adults, kids, the horses, other dogs, and even the cats (as much as you can herd a cat which pretty much isn't at all).

With my Texas Heeler (ACD/Border Collie) you could actually see the herding techniques better in her brain. In the end the border collie seemed dominant as she was very good at the stare down and stalking.

My 5-month-old GSD 'Cuda. I forgot how much attention a working breed puppy requires.
Ugh., yeah they're a ton of effort. I don't miss the puppy years of a GSD. Great dogs, but man you pay your dues early with them.

I have 4 that think I bought the truck just for them to ride in.
Wait! You mean you didn't?

We have nothing for our Border Collies to herd. Youngster just gives me the "c'mon let me outside" eye anytime I go into our pool cage, and our 5-year-old BC gives me "the eye" after lunch and dinner to say "open that patio door and let me out" but that's about it for herding. Older dog is very territorial and younger one is picking up on that, fierce barks for Amazon delivery, UPS delivery, boats in the canal, passing ***holes with unmuffled motorcycles, and when the much-hated USPS truck drives by.

She is a good dog now, but it took a lot longer than I thought it would take. To be honest, If I had done a quarter of the research before buying her that I did on the Ram....I would have never gotten her. Now I am glad I did. But there was a period of about six months that I regretted every second of that purchase. Then I had to re-train her for her to learn her name wasn't "GOD DAMN DOG!!!!!!"

She’s a beauty. Dogs are lots of work. My guy is great. But he has cost me quite a bit. 17k to fence in back yard. 7k for surgery(he lost an eye) about four hundred a month for d and bully sticks. He is quite spoiled but I love him to death!!!

He turned three April 15th. I couldn’t imagine him not being here when I come home from work!! Nothing like the happiness of seeing how happy he gets to seeing me. FN crazy how much you can love your pet!!!
