Is the used market really this crazy?

Thanks for that detailed report. I’m still waiting my Autonation selling trip which is on this Monday. I drive 3.5 hours into Tn (from NC) to their dealership. Then probably the same “take off $500 for this paint spot” and hopefully a check that same morning.
Vroom took 7 days to email a contract, I won’t even bother with it.

I ran my 14’ Ford Edge thru both Carvana and Vroom, Carvana was actually much higher ($10,950) vs Vroom ($8,500) but I won’t be selling. Just shows that they vary depending on age/style of vehicles. Obviously they both don’t want/need a 100K mile SUV very much.
What AutoNation are you going to over here?

Hey, right in my neighborhood! That's where I bought my truck. I've been happy with the dealership. Ask for Mark and he'll get you a good price. He's the only Mark there. Give him my name tell him I bought a 2019 from Robert Pendleton in Jan 2019. Don't know if it will get you a better price but it can't hurt knowing a local customer!

Appreciate it. I'm already dealing with a "Chris", whomever that is. As long as they don't ding me too hard for the dime sized paint rub on the back body colored bumper cover (from the garage door hitting it, (cringe) then I should come out ok. Again, that's the only reason it is going away (too long for the next garage). No problems (well the ac isn't fixed) and the straight hemi is getting over 20 on the highway so it's one nice truck.
My wife won't even drive it to Tn as she's afraid of messing it up somehow. So I will be the "bad guy" ha ha, but she gets the check!

Confirmed! After being offered 52,395 from zoom on 2020 Silverado rst z71 loaded just without sunroof I went to autonation dealer and they offered me 50,500 on the spot. I called the guy doing my trade in at dealer where I ordered my rebel and he told me book value has gone up. He is now giving me 47k. From 45k originally offered on 4/8 when I ordered. I’m actually dropping my truck off to them Monday. I’ll take the 47 and save a little over 4K on sales tax. 51+change value on my car that has 27,500 miles. Sticker was 59 and change

just fell in love with the rebel. I work in nyc so to beat traffic I get to work super early. Going back to gas so I don’t have any issues sitting in running truck. Silverado is awesome. The little duramax is more than they even advertise. 27,500 miles in one year and average 27.5 mpg. It’s a great truck. No complaints. But the rams are awesome

Probably has something to do with crappy 8 speed, crappy underpowered 5.3 that is only DI and prone to dirty valves, crappy interior, and ugly exterior.

I thought they all had the “10” speed now?

The used truck values are totally insane right now. I traded in my 2018 Silverado Z71 2LT Crew with 32,350 miles on Monday for $40k with the included tax credit. I was quite astonished that my 2.5 year old truck was worth more than what I paid for it. They were trying to give me $36k at the dealer, but I would not budge knowing what the values are and the excellent condition my truck was in. I traded it in towards the '21 Laramie w/Night Edition which has been a totally awesome truck so far. I do miss my Silverado but man I do not miss the 5.3/6 speed trans combo at all. This truck is totally night and day difference, especially with the interior and the 5.7/8 speed trans. It sucks that they were not giving a lot off of MSRP, it was roughly $4500 off.

Lol. Wally must be brain dead!!! I have a duramax in my truck that would run circles around you. At 95 mph I’m under 2000 rpms. Probably because my transmission is shifting from 9th to tenth gear. But you wouldn’t know anything about those two gears. And even the ****ty little powerless 5.3 has a ten speed. It’s not 2018 anymore

That’s the badging for the duramax. The engine is an animal. The interior is not as nice as the new rams but my 21 rebel will have the interior your talking about. The Chevy isn’t as bad as you would think. As far as interior. You just have to make sure you check all the boxes when getting options. Same thing as the ram. If you don’t get the 12” screen it doesn’t look as good. **** for that matter go look at a TRX. After that all these other trucks look like crap

And not to run on on your insult but that’s the only thing that is holding the ram back is that 8speed tranny your knocking

And the fact that unless you go diesel your stuck with the 5.7. Nice engine. I’m getting one myself but if you run into a crappy Silverado z71 hope it has the 5.3. Otherwise either the duramax or the 6.2 will smoke you. Whatever engine you get from ram except the TRX

ZF’s 8-speed is used in many higher end vehicles, I don’t think it’s holding Ram back. If anything it’s the 5.7L from 2009 that could use an update to compete with the Ford 3.5EB and GM 6.2L

Not a significant difference between the transmissions. The GM/Ford “10” speed is really only a 9-speed, as the 9th & 10th ratios are only 0.05 apart. But 10 speed sounds better for marketing purposes

Brother I’m trading my Silverado in for a ram. I love the ram but you can’t just crush the Silverado. Drove her for the past 13 months. 27,500 miles. Almost 28 mpg fuel average. I work in nyc but live in the suburbs. It’s a beautiful truck. I do agree though you must upgrade the 5.3 cause that thing is a pig. Yes ram also should make the 6.2 available but on the flip side I’ll be sick because than I’ll be reading in a truck that I’m still waiting for to be built. If ram announced that engine for 22 I’d cancel my current order. And yes I agree the transmission is fine. I’m just not good with insults. Right now she’s still my truck
