Is it possible to add Blind Spot?

Do you happen to remember what PIN number was in your harness? My mirrors will be here Thursday but I think there was a couple of members who wanted an alternative to buying the new mirrors. Some just wanted to replace the glass in there existing mirrors. Thanks in advance you are a great asset to many how to DIYs.
On the “A” connector of the door module (black connector if I remember right), it is pin 7 for the positive, and pin 5 for the ground. Pin 5 might have to be tapped, depending what options the current mirrors have.

Just to add, I also, added the sensors/wiring, and but have not wired my mirror indicators yet..I also had an error that system was unavailable..I disabled the mirror present, and my system has been working perfect..I get a beep when I put blinker on and vehicle is there, also when backing out of driveway, the sensors beep if someone is coming down the road.

I noticed something else the past 2 mornings I’ve used remote start and the blind spot doesn’t turn on automatically with remote start I have to turn it off on my screen and the turn it back on to get the audio beeping. When starting the truck normally the blind spot turns on as it should.

My mirrors arrived a day early. I installed them and reprogrammed the mirrors present with AlfaObd everything works as it should no codes.

I was just told by my local dealer while looking to order from factory that there is a restriction on ordering new Rebels (and all Ram trucks I believe) with blind spot and cross path detection. Apparently their supplier in Japan has had issues and all chips that control these functions were 'destroyed'. They don't know when this will be lifted. Saying in their dealer build system that it is a permanent restriction until further notice.

Not sure what the dealer was talking about or showing. Went to another local dealer 2/15 and they were able to order just fine. Maybe the error was corrected or was just B.S. from this other dealer since they couldn't get all my options ordered at the time. They also wanted a $2k non-refundable deposit so all has worked out so far with this other dealer. Went into D status in 2 days and includes the Adv. Safety Group w/ blind spot monitoring.

They were probably referring to this- https://5thgenrams.com/semiconductor-chip-shortage-causes-ram-to-repackage-some-options/

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. No note of the Rebel. My build sheet shows Advanced Safety Group (ALP) and Blind Spot and Cross Path Detection (XAN) as separately priced line items. Hopefully this means my Rebel will have those without issues during the build process. So far in D status within 1 week.
You will have this feature based on your build.

Any one can upload the pdf document on post 106. I am trying to download but it failed.
Thank you!

Ok, today I have removed the driver side tail light. The connector for the light has all the pins populated and the wiring harness part number is the same with the one with the BSM ( see pictures attached).
Now the question is, if the wiring harness is there at the tail light , it will go all the way in the the cabin and to the CAN ?
There is a way to tell if all the wiring is done and all I need is the BSM module for the lights?

I had the correct harnes at taillights but they didn't go into cab had to run my wire inside the cab.

It was worth a shot !
Now if I will like to install a LED light for blind spot how I will connect one?

You can pull the carpet up under the driver seat and see if the body harness connector has the pins populated or not.

I don't understand what you are asking in this question

Yes post 161 Jimmy07 covers where to tap the wires. If you don't turn the mirrors present on with Alfaobd you will get the tone just no light.

if you wanted to add your own internal LED, you would have to open the door panels and pin the existing mirror connector at the door module - thats where the warning illumination output is located. you could in theory, put your own small LED somewhere on the corner of the door panel, facing inward at the driver. I've actually seen some other cars configured that way.
