So even though I purchased tail lights with blind spot already installed I still need to add the jumper harness?This is all correct, but you also need the wiring harness that goes from the taillight to the harness under the truck. Known as the "jumper" harness. About 2' long and made for each side of the truck. The part numbers are in the document.
I have done this and can confirm the installation method you are following will work. It's been working flawless for me for a month or so now.
I didn't mess with the XY400 connector... i just cut the wires and drilled a hole. To each their own.
How does that physically connect to each tail light?
If it's just connecting to each existing tail light harness what is it physically doing that the existing harness isn't already doing is that the ground wire that previous poster was talking about?
