Is it possible to add Blind Spot?

Hi, just read through most of this forum. I have no problem doing the install and running wires from tail lights to can bus. Just installed and programmed a 7" cluster with AlfaOBD, so I am familiar with programming. I saw @Jimmy07 may have the necessary wiring to purchase? I am going to purchase factory OEM tailights and the modules separate, but I am not experienced enough to do any splicing or modifying connectors. If anyone has the wiring that works similar to the infotainment set up or can customize this, I am willing to pay. Any help is appreciated.

Just finished updating my 2019 BigHorn Gen 5 with the BSM. I purchased OEM tail lights thru ebay and new mirrors with BSM, heated dimmer on mopar. Jimmy07 provided XY400 wiring (thanks!) and the document to install is spot on (getting the plugs out on the XY is hard and take your time). The biggest problem I had was the right BSM not recognized as I bought 68489300AA wire harness and a depinned on driver side. However, I had orginal 68357200 / 220 AD harness and connected the BSM tail lights to it and worked great. The BSM module is 68263397AD. I wondering if the 300AA work with a newer BSM module and not with the older? This was my first time doing anything like this and wasn't too bad except for the cable issue I had. Great thanks on this forum as a lot of info here and save a ton of $.

I also have a 2019 bighorn and am doing the conversion/ add on. I already purchased the mirrors with blind spot monitoring lights but I see that you said you purchased 68263397AD modules. Do both modules need to be that same part number? I saw on the write up that 68263397AC was required. Others used different part number sensors as well. That's the only thing that has me confused. Any assistance? Thanks in advance.

The current model BSM ends in AE which replaced AD and AC. So I don't know if you can mix and match. My only thought was the cable ending in 300AA didn't seem to recognize the right BSM but I used my original cables ending in 200/220 and that worked.

Finished the BSM install yesterday thanks to all the information here and the harness from @Jimmy07. I have the power folding tow mirrors with blind spot and found a pair of 68263397AE modules with heat sinks on eBay to install in aftermarket lights that are pre-wired for the modules. After a couple of key cycles all options showed up including the trailer length BSM; will have to wait until I get the travel trailer out of winter storage to see how that works.

Great mod and so appreciative of the input from the community to make this a relatively simple upgrade.

I’m slowly getting everything ordered in to do this mod but I'm curious about re-pinning the existing harness to avoid buying the jumper harnesses mentioned before.

I haven’t checked to see what harness part number is there but I would be looking into trying to save some money by re-pinning if anyone had insight on it?

They are up to $100 CAD each last time I checked and so far I’ve been able to get everything else for under $200 CAD.

I’ve gone over the thread quite a bit over the past week and can’t remember if there were instructions specifically on how to do this.

Ok, checked and have the 300aa harness so just de-pin wire #8 on the drivers side and it’ll work after making the other changes?

Also with the xy connector, if we add the wires inside the cab through that connector instead of drilling holes. Is it a male or female pins that replaces the blue waterproof plugs to make the canbus connection?

Ok got time to do it today. Everything installed, made the changes but coming up with “Blind spot alert unavailable. Service required”. Error code U0232 comes up. Followed the instructions and double checked the wiring to the can bus. I de-pinned driver side wire #8 in the 300AA like the others and still having the issue.

Thoughts?

Going to go through the entire thread again but hope someone has some ideas.

Check with AlfaOBD or Jscan and connect directly to the blind spot modules. See if they respond.

I thought I remembered AlfaOBD could do that. Do you know where to find direct connections to the modules?

Edit: Oh it’s in object detection then right? I thought it was in the body computer portion.

Update: Not recognizing left or right module.

Hi thanks for the reply but the document doesn't have the part numbers for the pins. The creator of the document says they don't know what part numbers they are see this Pic. I'm trying to repin like the post I was referring to. This method in this write up just spliced the wires. I'm not comfortable doing that.

Had some time to work on it again today. Have all can-bus lines with voltage from the rails at the front to the module connector in the taillights. Swapped taillights left and right and it’s still showing the same error of U0232. At this point I’m about ready to buy new modules and hope for the best. Is it a possibility that the module ending with AC is incompatible with a 2022 and 68263397AE is the one I should have had from the start?

Ef****n problem solved. Bought 2 new Modules (68263397AE), brand new, never installed and they work fine. Ignition ON, Right and left Modules enabled, NO ERROR MESSAGE. Added blind spot mirrors, since I have them installed, NO ERROR MESSAGE. CSM 1 and CSM 3 enabled, all working fine. Apparently, my truck did not liked the 68263397AC modules, even brand new. What a nightmare, glad it is over....
