I appreciate that, thats what we are here for!SoCal Truck said:Great job Jared. Thanks for taking the time and really showing us some of the key aspects. Appreciate all you do for this forum and I feel so much more informed as to what I am going to order due to this site, your work and the great participation from everyone.
I'm currently driving a 2011 Mercedes E550 that has this exact type of panoramic sunroof. With the lower headliner (to your head) I very much appreciate the forward glass moving up to slide to the rear. I figured if MB has been doing this since at least 2011, Ram should have a zero-issue design from day one.Slim said:Guess I never paid attention to that I just thought they all slid under until I watched Jared's video. Now I'll be on the lookout driving around town.
My S8 has USB-C vs the Micro USB....much faster charge speeds as well as file transfers.GM convert said:Dumb question. What are the advantages to using the usb c. For apple car play as compared to the regular usb? Thanks!
Not 100% sure on that one...as my F150 has regular USB ports. But when I use the 115v charger and USB-C phone connection - it can do a full charge at fast speed (1hr or so).GM convert said:So the usb c will charge the phone faster and send information from the phone to the truck faster?
What type of data can be transferred? Other than maybe a GPS download? Am I missing out on things?GM convert said:So the usb c will charge the phone faster and send information from the phone to the truck faster?

As the for the plug the big advantage is that it is reversible so you never have to play the "try it three times" game to plug something in. As for protocols, it offers far more than USB-A did although for this application in a vehicle it's only data and power - essentially the same as what the USB-A ports offer.
Since electronics are moving to USB-C, it makes it more future-proofed by having them and having the USB-A ports make it backward compatible. Ram scored with this approach making it one of the most-modern equipped vehicles by offering both and so many of them. It's one of the things that caught this techie's eye.
