Has anyone added a factory trailer brake controller to a 2025 yet?

How do I find out if I have the correct cable or not? These dealers don’t seem to know anything and I have to get this figured out and help is greatly appreciated.

I edited my last post to make it more complete. Cribbed from @Cbty2050 😁 a bit.
 
@azzx If you want to pin this info to your OP:

If you have a cable harness coming out of the existing TBC module with a tag saying PN: 68601443AA (the part number tag for the harness can be seen from under the rear seats), you only need part numbers:
68569520AB: TBC Module
68618899AA: Switch
And for the dealer to program your VIN.

If you don’t have that cable installed, you’ll need the full kit along with getting it added to your VIN.

The full kit is PN 82219240aa, which is on back order, includes the above 3 parts (cable, switch & module),

FYI: The RAM has 3 different TBC modules available. The standard one is just trailer lights. The one listed earlier is lights and brakes. The third is for trailer lights, brakes and TPMS.

Additionally, I understand this thread has been a little convoluted, but it’s only 5 pages (on web). Next time, please try to come with a little research done like @Cbty2050 asked. No one likes repeating themselves.

I’m really sorry that answering a question took so much time, I’ve been following this thread from the beginning and several part numbers have been thrown around, I neglected to reread all the pages. I’ll just delete this thread and be on my way, have a wonderful life.

That doesn't change the fact that your thought of "It's all about the money, if the truck brakes the trailer brakes", there is definitely an advantage to have the factory option installed.

Your opinion on cost, aftermarket controllers, and misrepresentation of capability compared with factory systems is irrelevant and not appreciated by the other participants.

Gee 20 years ago who cared, Dodge sure didn't, the opposition competition is why you could get a TBC later in the MY's in a Dodge. I couldn't get a OE TBC for my 07 3500 C&C that had ABS, I bought a Brake Smart controller which was better than any OE TBC at the time. My 04.5 2500 had ABS and no TBC, I ended up buying a Tekonsha TBC, and it didn't seem to have issues.

I bought the controller from an on-line dealer that claimed it is for 2025.

If you have the reclining back seats then recline them and drop the center console down. You can then reach behind the seat and find a pull cord. Pull it and the seat back will unlatch.

While I have documented pretty thoroughly my struggle with this OEM TBC install on a separate thread by RamTruckMan (Installing a Mopar Trailer Brake Controller in a 2025 RAM 1500) and btw... @RamTruckMan @Cbty2050 and @Jimmy07 are rockstars....

I do want to ask for clarification since it came up a couple times in this thread and I don't see it answered. It also is not clear in the instructions for the kit in question, at least not that I can see.

The mopar site states "before ordering this part, please check if your truck has both trailer brake module connectors. These connectors are located under the left side of the steering column. Both connectors are 4-pin design. If both connectors are not present, the ITBM kit cannot be added to this vehicle."

Now, the instructions for the kit only shows (highlights) dealing with ONE connector behind the infotainment. Although there are like....4 connectors shown in the instruction drawing, only one is emphasized.

Can someone clarify the need for the two?
 
So I just purchased a 2025 Rebel X with the 14.4” radio without the trailer brake control. I wanted the OEM one and had a lot of confusion about it as well. However now it is installed and working properly!

2025 changed the wiring. Both module location and plugs are not where they were in 2024. There is only 1 plug behind the radio and the module is behind the passenger rear seat. You also need the correct 2025 trailer brake switch and module for your model radio.

This Mopar seller on eBay was extremely helpful and will pull up your vin to sell you the correct parts since there is a national back order going through the dealer. I ordered the Mopar parts from him and brought it to the dealer and they installed it and flashed the truck.

The one I got was for the 14.4
