Has anyone added a factory trailer brake controller to a 2025 yet?

At the dealer, we are verify that the connector at the module has the wiring installed. If it does we order the module and switch only. Install and program them for $500 installed and programed.
That is reasonable - compared to what my dealer was asking

We don't remove the rear seat if the wiring is there. It takes 10 minutes at most to update the sales code.

That is smart!
My dealer's tech removed the rear seat and crisscrossed the seat belts.
I hate to go back the 2nd time with "your connect system requires service - see your dealer" message!

The parts for this are apparently on back order until October 23rd.

You can order the module and switch separately, most trucks have the wiring in the harness and don't need it. I will try to find that harness number that has all the wiring included.

Edit part number in harness is 68601443AA, I have checked multiple on the lot this number has all the wires, the tag for the harness can be seen from under the rear seats.

The dealer owes me this as part of the sale, unfortunately I’m at their mercy. They started off by ordering the wrong parts, it was only because of this post that I was able to steer them in the right direction, thanks.

Thomas Dodge in Highland IN, it was $390 for installation and $300 for the kit. It did have this module installed P/N 68569521AB. They did swap it out with the brake controller that came in the kit P/N 68569520AB. The module that came with the truck was P/N 68569521AB and the controller is P/N 68569520AB. Not sure what the function was of the original module 🤷‍♂️
So, Mopar part number 82219240AA is the dash squeezie switch and the module?

I took delivery of my 2025 Ram on August 30th and I’m still waiting on the dealership to get the controller. They keep saying it is on back order. I call every week. This is pathetic.

You can get the module and switch separately, not the address on kit but works the same.

I just got a 2025 1500. So i read all ig this front to bavk. What I'm gathering is i need to get a module and switch and have the dealer program it? Also cannot install aftermarket? Was wondering if i pop my screen out and go right to the switch connecter can I just pin an aftermarket controller to that?

I added the switch to the dash. However, where the control box should be mounted under the dash is different. There is a square black plastic box mounted where the bracket for the control box should be mounted.
Sorry - did not take a picture.
Called a few dealers, but they have not installed one in 2025 yet.
also, cannot find the wires.

I have to ask as this thread and the dealers information is extremely confusing. My 2025 Limited did not come with a Brake Controller installed. Local Parts department is asking me to verify the two plugs by the steering column, I don't see any. Reading this thread it mentions that the plugs are now located behind the rear seats for the 25s, is this verified correct? Anyone who has had this option installed by the dealer and verified it is working as it should, could I please get the part number(s) included or better yet a receipt showing the part numbers used. I really need to start pulling a trailer. Thank you in advance.

My dealer had to pull the head unit and verify the 2 plugs behind where the controller switch would go

You need part #68569520AB(trailer tow module) and then the dash switch 68618899AA. Once installed the dealer can program.

I think 82219240AA kit is the correct, single PN for both for 2025’s.

The kit is hard to get, the part numbers I provided is what we have used on trucks w/ 12" radios. If you see above I posted part #68601443AA, is the wiring harness behind the seat that is in the truck. If you have that harness, then all you need is the 2 parts I listed.

You wouldn't happen to have a photo of what this wiring harness behind the seat looks like? Is it a big job to pull the seat?

Looking to make sure these wires in the positions in the pic below from the install instructions are present:

Look under pass rear seat behind the back cover. Not hard to see. There is a tag with a part #. We pull the harness out and look to make sure wires are there. They all have had them so far. I can take a picture of the harness tomorrow.

Lift the pass rear seat and you can see the module and wiring tag.
