Really? It seems like more work to me but I've never done it that way. I don't think I need parking mode for a radar detector? I'm all about easier
Radar Detector...no...Dash Cam...ABSOLUTELY!!!

To run a wire to the fuse panel is actually extremely easy to do and would take you like 10 minutes. As an EE, I personally do not like mirror taps but they do serve a purpose for those that don't want to mess with the fuse panel.

Has anyone found a solution to the two mirror styles that BlendMount doesn't have compatible mounts for? I have the one on the far right in the link below, and it almost looks like it has the same stalk as the second one, and I'm wondering if I can squeeze a mount in there. I had one in my Duramax, and now I feel naked without one in this truck LOL

I have the Blendmount on my truck. I have the BR7-2032 for Uniden R7 and it fits great...it's the European car model.

Has anybody installed a blendmount on the 2020 Rebel? I don't think they have the large plastic cover behind the mirror. I looked at one yesterday and can't remember for certain.

I will agree with SecurityGuy as I used to be an installer a long time ago. Just run to the fuse panel with the fuse taps now it’s a cakewalk.
All those with Blendmounts, you don’t find that the extra weight shakes the mirror? When I tried to use a blend mount for my Escort 360c in my BMW it made the mirror vibrate. The 360c is pretty heavy.

I have a blend mount with a R7 and there is no shake on my RAM mirror.

Thanks @chrisnack. I see zero mirror vibration with my Blendmount on my RAM.

Yes. It's tight, but it fits.

I've had my radar detector installed for a while, and thought to share with some pics. I used the Blendmount with wire taps. I had to go with the Blendmount because the knock off would not work with my radar detector, it would keep sliding off. Luckily the Blendmount has a spring type clip which actually holds my radar detector with some light pressure giving it a good grip. It is expensive but that's the one that worked, and looks real good. Here are some pics. Enjoy:

I second this, just run to the fuse panel, super easy

I took mine a step forward and added an indicator light on top of the drivers dash so I can totally mute the radar. I'm very proud of the result. I am no professional but it looks as if it came like that and very functional, no more annoying sounds.

Anyone else have issues with the radar detecting the BSM?

Drove on the highway this week and it just kept going off the whole time, only have used the 360c one other time in the truck, ended up just unplugging it. I have ZERO issues with the 360c in my BMW, which has all the same tech and more.

Just curious on what others have seen.

Try updating the software. I had to turn the lazer detection on my 2019 BMW X5.

Well i move it between the cars, it's updated from the last time i drove, as i have a hotspot in the BMW. Only have issues in the RAM so far. I'll try tweaking some settings and running Auto mode instead of Highway.

Lots of good info in this thread.
Got a question tho, for those that have the blend mount with the uniden R7 does any one of you use a windshield sun shade while the radar detector is mounted to the mirror?
I'm currently using the cover craft sun shade and its the fold up style and didn't know if the detector would get in the way of installing it.

That looks pretty clean. Can you add some detail on how you included the mute button there?

I also am looking for the alternate mirror trim removal- I got the upper off, but can't figure out how to get the lower plastic off. Anyone, anyone? Bueller... Bueller?

What model truck do you have? I have a limited and getting the cover behind the mirror off is a pice of cake!
