Full Screen Android Auto Coming Soon?

I actually just changed my phone to apple.

I'm a loooong time android user and honestly it's not as bad as I thought.

So nice to have full screen... I spend a lot of time in my truck so it's been totally worth it

I am not switching phones for my car. And actually I got used by it know. Actually having the Android Auto on the top part and the audio on the bottom part is actually quite useful. More like a split screen rather to have a big Waze screen and do not see the radio or spotify on the same screen.

This is my take on it as well. The top half of the screen as my nav map with Android Auto is more than enough. I don't see any benefit of full screen navigation.

The whole uConnect system has been a disappointment. I've already had to have the the whole unit replaced because it started rebooting every 20 minutes. My warranty is about to expire and I worry that's going to start happening again. I've emailed several times asking if we are ever going to get a full screen Android Auto. They barely read that email because the response is always "You need to do a factory reset on your phone". Yeah, that's not the issue.

Who are your emailing? RAM or Uconnect? I doubt we will ever get any more updates to UC4.

For anyone who has a problem with your "magic box" having connection or resetting issues AND you're using the USB power switch...............I had issues with mine dropping and finally got rid of the USB power switch and my issues went away. Figured the box was getting some sort of interference through the USB switch.

I've been emailing UConnect. I've got UC5, so I thought there would be hope. Apparently not.

I guess I need to switch to calling them.

I just got a 2026 1500 Laramie Night Edition and as an Android Auto user, this is one of my biggest complaints so far. I stumbled upon this thread when searching for solutions.
Since this is a fairly recent thread, I'm posting so I will get any updates on this issue.

You mean that you have the 14" screen. Is it still Uconnect5 or Uconnect6?

I think we have some hopes that will remain "hopes" only.
After my 2022, I thought this half-screen Android thing had improved, but it's the same thing like on the truck my 2025.

To buy an IPhone is it obligatory ?

If that's the reason you switch to iPhone, you have other issues. 😜

You are right indeed! but..... until October 2025 I had an iPhone and in November I changed it with a Samsung .... just before the pickup of the Rebel
Is'nt important but I didn't expect the mid-display of the Android phones

Maybe somebody want to facilitate companies (partially) USA... I don't know, I don't find a reason.

Nobody can figure out why an android based OS can't do full screen Android Auto but will do full screen carplay. Someone didn't pay a bill somewhere, or something.

How do you

How do you know it's the phone's OS and not the head unit?
