Full Screen Android Auto Coming Soon?

First you need to remove your phone from the Uconnect. Then the AI box plugs into the USB for a wired connection and power, and becomes your primary device.

Then you wirelessly connect to the AI box with your phone for Android Auto.

Does it work well with the ucon4 for 21 and older?

This only works with Uconnect 5's. Uconnect 4 can not do full screen AA or Carplay because it does not support either of them.

I know this post and process is more specifically for getting AA to go full screen while using maps/gps. But, this UConnect 5 has absolutely butchered AA on my new 24'. AA locks up all together at times, it doesn't text worth a crap and the touch screen stops working all the time. For me, this is only on the AA page. Have you guys found that this Voperiz connector has affected the touch screen or anything else for AA? I'm willing to spend a crisp hundy on this if it fixes all the issues with AA currently, then getting full page (or close to is as I've seen) google maps is just a bonus for me!

I was using AA on UC5 for a few months and I didn't have any of the issues you are describing. I didn't use it for texting, but everything else worked without any glitches.

For $99, ease of use, and solid ratings on Amazon, this Voperiz device seems like the best way to get full screen AA on Uconnect 5.

Voperiz Carplay Adapter
I've been using this for 2 weeks now and it's working perfectly. Got it off Amazon for $75 with a coupon. Full screen AA works well and the added feature of having Netflix/Youtube/Disney+ for my toddlers to watch on road trips is nice. The only downside is the front USB's are powered on for an hour after turning off the truck, so i need to unplug it when at home so my bluetooth doesn't stay connected. Really wish they would give us options to control the amount of time those maintain power. Otherwise, a very worthwhile investment.

There's not an option in uconnect for power off after engine off???

The 12" display has to process the data to display
Yeah but a few years back RAM made a promise to be able to do OTA updates via wifi or cellular service if you have Uconnect 4 to Uconnect 5(with all the Bells & Whistles) if you own the 2020 and 2021 model year. Whatever happened to that promise and advertisement?

I have the Motorola AA setup (I'm looking into this one now thanks)...same issue with the USB port. I bought one of these switches so I could lower down the device versus unplugging it and out of the USB port all the time.

Did you use the same process as the "others" in this thread? Disconnect your phone from UConnect, connect to the new box through BT............then I get a little confused on how you use CarPlay, but also use AA. Mine will be here Friday, so I plan on messing with it over the weekend.

Thanks for help, in advance!

The device uses CarPlay to connect to the UC system and your phone uses the device to mirror connect to the phone.

That's what I wasn't understanding. It's the phone mirror that's actually allowing the full screen..............now I get it. Thanks!

Anyone have a link for one of these currently available on Amazon that works? Thanks

All I want is a way to force wired or wireless android auto. I lived rurally so around the property I have WiFi and repeaters. So I like having the WiFi on as I don't get cell service up here, maybe 1 bar occasionally in some spots.

This is the first vehicle I've had with wireless AA and I'm pretty surprised I can't chose to enable or disable it, or a connection preference. If I remove my phone from it's docked connection it's a fiasco because for some reason it just constantly wants to reconnect to AA even if I force it to not reconnect. Same with my viofi dashcam. It just disconnects and goes back to AA.

But I've also noticed the AA is a cluster of displays even on the 8.4". With about an inch on both top and bottom being static stuff like my seat heater indicators that I specifically bought the 8.4" to have the physical HVAC controls of and avoid screen interactions with. So useless space...

Just kinda is what it is I guess.
