Fuel gauge doesn't hit full

I agree with you let’s see what FCA has to say can we tag them in this maybe they can get a recall done on it or something would be great
Well the good news is as long as it is a soft ware glitch it is reparable if you can get them off their candy asses. My experience though with IT people is they have crystal egos so it is a bit of a project getting them to focus on the problems.

Mine fills to full line but when is says low mileage I still have 50 miles left on top of the empty mark.. even if the truck says 0 miles left on dash.. it's not programmed correctly.. I literally rode around with a jug of fuel to test this out.. I have the 33gl fuel tank btw

i dont know how mine is a darn software glitch when even with no fuel in the tank it wont hold over 21 gallons
That is weird. Can you see the tank and compare it to one on the lots that you know is a 33?

didnt want to do that but probably the next step besides going up to the dealer on e and daring them to put 33 gallons in it

The standard tank on eTorque trucks is 23 gallons, so unless you got the optional 33 gallon tank, putting 21 gallons in when you're on E is normal with the 2 gallon reserve.

Glad i am not the only with this issue. I spoke with my dealer the other day and i got the "we will need to look into this for you", which is code for, "your truck works fine and don't bother us with this". It is very frustrating since it seems like i never get a full tank of gas at each fill up.
I am pretty confident i have the 23 gallon tank.

Mine will hit the full mark but just barely, I drive like 20 miles and it will be well below full. My 2014 used to stay on full for quit a while probably like 50 miles.

I'm having this issue as well. It's bad enough to only have a 23 gallon tank, then when it goes to empty, I can usually only get 19 gallons in it. When your towing at 7.5mpg, only getting about 19 gallons of usable tanks space is painful.
Seriously why did ram even make a 23 gallon tank vs the 26?

it has to be only a 23, but software glitch isn't the problem, i know i actually ran out of gas and when I filled it up it still got no where near 23 gallons in it

Well this was weird...I put gas in my truck with the still about 40ish miles left on the gauge. I decided to see how much i could actually get in the tank. Wouldn't you know that i was able to put a shade over 23 gallons in the tank?!?!? It is supposed to be a 23 gallon tank. This is really screwed up.
@RamCares --- Any insight in to this issue?

We can't necessarily give any technical feedback on this, buckeyecool71. If you do end up getting this officially inspected, let me know. I'll get this forwarded to a case specialist for further handling.

I realize that could be quite concerning. How are you planning on moving forward as far as an official inspection?
