Fuel gauge doesn't hit full

I did a quick search and didnt find my answer immediately so I'll ask, does anyone else's fuel gauge not top out when full? Ours sits anywhere from just above 7/8 to 15/16 (if there were a mark). I have yet to see it actually hit the F or past. I have read cases of the bottom ends of the gauge being off a bit (light on with 5 gallon left) but not this way around. Anyone dealt with this and had it fixed? Not a dire issue so it won't be going in just for this, just annoying, I've given it time to see if it would change

Haven't noticed that but I usually just glance at the fuel gauge. Will look when I fill up.

Funny you say that. I noticed if I turn my truck off and pump gas it will do that. But if I leave it running it will go all the way up to the full mark.

I’ve noticed that as well and thought it was just me. It doesn’t always do it. Just occasionally when I fill up.

I have noticed this as well. Sometimes it "fills" up with almost an eighth of a tank left to go until reading full on the gauge.

Mine just barely touches F, within a couple miles of filling up yesterday it was at 15/16.

Ok well I'm not totally out of the norm then. Seems like the sender has resistance issues with it not hitting full and fuel light coming on early. Whether that's actually the case who knows..
The truck has done this since new as I've filled it most of the time wife does occasionally. 13 miles from home to gas station and it never corrects between the two, so I feel like it's an interpretation issue whether sender or gauge.
If anyone has it looked at before I take it in again let us know if and what they do. I'll wait until I have other reasons to take it in

Hi LaRamie,
We understand that you would prefer to wait to take your truck to your dealer to have this looked into. Please feel free to send us a private message if you would like any additional assistance once you decide to bring your truck to your dealer.

Man it’s it’s really funny that I’m reading this because I’m dealing with the same problem I completely filled my tank and even overfilled it and it’s just showing 3/4 of a tank on the trip meter it’s only showing I have about 211 miles till I’m empty even though it’s pouring all over the ground good to hear I’m not alone dodge needs to look at this issue!

Ours seemed to have cleared up now. And has yet to do it again. Can't say what, where, or why

is this a problem that is ongoing, I know when mine says I have 3 miles to empty it only holds about 21 gallons so something is off somewhere

It's pretty well known on here that E doesn't mean E, they have a buffer there so people dont run out is what we assume.

Give it some time, like I said ours goes to full everytime now. But first couple months every fill up it wouldn't.

I am having the same issue with my truck, which has the 26 gal tank. The gauge never hits "Full" and when I ran the tank down below "10 miles of range" I was only able to pump 22.5 gallons in. Therefore, I wonder if the truck was programed for the standard 23 gallon tank on the lesser trims instead of the 26 gal standard in the Limited?

You’re good. The miles to empty is an approximate number.
You can’t go by that. I will always be off by a few miles.
