Front bumper alignment

Well I got my truck back from the dealership. They had a traveling master tech from FCA take a look at it since this was the 3rd try at getting it right. He inspected the truck, took several measurements and deemed it 4mm off left to right "well within spec" . What a bunch of BS. I guess I'll just have to live with it. At least its a lot closer than it was

I cannot believe this manufacturer pushes out vehicles like this. I have had 4 vehicles from this manufacturer and this is the LAST. I Can’t wait to get rid of this truck

As time has passed, it’s bothered me less and less and I don’t even think about it anymore. I’m just enjoying the truck.

It’s not perfect, but it’s a lot better than it was pre-adjustment, and it’s not noticeable unless you really scrutinize it.

Mine was readjusted to my satisfaction, by the body shop my dealership took it to. Appearance isn't even noticable now. Not sure of the work preformed.

Anyway I could get the phone number to the bodyshop you took your dodge to? Be nice to have a chat with them and see what they came up with. Cause the body shops in Alberta are garbage haha

Im located northern Alberta Canada and we are having the same problems. Ive adjusted the grill to where im happy. Doing some fine measurements I have noticed that the passenger side Facial (under headlight) is 1/4 difference in size compared to the Drivers side measuring at 6". passenger 6 1/4"

Only some people notice this issue but to me its not right. I wanna fix em all to at lease get em 99.9% cause with having bodyman experience I can def notice them...compared to your average Joe. still isnt right tho

Mine has the same issue. Bad machining on front bumper. You will need bigger bolt holes to get more adjustment. Mine didn’t have that much play.

So I’ve been reading all the posts here about the grille being misaligned and at the same time, trying to find a dealership that had a body shop and knew what I was even talking about. Mine was off about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch side to side, the passenger side being lower than the drivers side.
I had found a you tube video about how to remove the grille and thought what the hell, I’ve give it a shot. Long story made short, the facia panel was a bear to remove, but when I got that off, 3 bolts loosened and a padded pry bar between the bottom of grille and bumper to move the grille and retighten bolts, and we’re now even side to side. Probably took the better part of 2 hours, but now at least I can walk to the front of the truck and not grit my teeth. I wish I hadn’t had to fool with it, but I wanted it fixed right,and as the old saying goes, if you want something done right, just do it yourself.

My Laramie Sport Crew 4X4 has a slightly different bumper/grille issue than most of you; The bumper appears to be higher than normal (or the grille lower) as most Rams I see have a gap between the bottom of the grille to the top of the bumper. Mine appears to overlap. The gaps between headlight fascia and bumper appear pretty even, and gap between grille and hood is small and even, but the "pushed up" bumper makes it look (to me at least) like the ends of the bumper (by the fender flares) are drooping slightly.......like the whole bumper is twisted upward slightly. I think it is an optical illusion but it is bugging me.......I'll try to upload pics today. Truck has 800 miles, just noticed it watching it come out of the car wash the other day...now every time I look at it that is all I see.......

I have my eye on the same kind of used Sport with the same issue. I don’t think it’s an optical illusion.

Here are some pics of the misalignment...am I crazy? I just took it into the dealer for this and a bunch of other stuff.....they kinda rolled their eyes at me.....

Glad to find this thread.
Just picked up my Big Horn from the dealer, who verified the crooked bumper, confirmed that there was not enough play in the bumper mounting to adjust it, and suggested they could take it to a body shop.
I'll follow up with them and ask that they start with the body shop verifying the grill to be square, and then adjust the bumper alignment pins as needed from there.

My truck has been at the dealer since August 28 to correct the front bumper/grille alignment problem and a separate problem with an exposed weather seal around the passenger rear brake light. When I arrived at the dealer the service writer agreed both problems were legitimate and not correct from the factory. He added that it was normal on new vehicle models for there to be some things that needed to be tweaked but that they have an in house body shop and it should be no problem for them to correct.

It is my belief that the brake light issue has been fixed but the "face only a mother could love" is another matter entirely...

Nearly a month in and all I keep being told is that they agree the front end/fascia is misaligned but that they don't know how to repair or correct it. They even told me they walked the lot and found about 7 other 1500's on the lot with misaligned front ends. I have given them a lot of information I found on the forums (including links they could read for themselves) about how the problem has been corrected for others but they seemingly just ignored that. You would think with so many owners having this problem there would be some sort of bulletin from FCA to dealers on this by now with repair procedures. As it stands right now, the dealer is asking me to call FCA about the problem.
