Feeling the road through the gas pedal?

Thanks. Wouldn't have thought of the noise cancelation system being the culprit.

Just thought I'd update. Took my truck in this morning and I'm gonna post a pic of what the tech said. It feels fine now. So maybe ask your dealers about this bulletin.

Did you feel the vibration around 1800 to 2000 rpm or was it always 35 mph? My truck is smooth at 35 mph because it is usually at a low rpm at that speed. I feel the vibration as the rpm approaches 1800 rpm and is gone after 2100 rpm. Speed does not matter only rpm. I am trying to figure out if my problem is the same or not.

I had my truck in for the vibration and had them do the noise cancellation update. It didn't help with the vibration at all but did mess with the subwoofer settings in the audio. Totally wrecked the sound. Now all I hear is the subwoofer "thumping" like a kids first car with a truck full on subwoofers. I turned down the bass setting 5 notches and still it's there. Before the subwoofer was an integrated part of the sound system, now it's just an annoyance. I am going to see if they can go backwards with the update to help.

Thank you! Mine came with this update and I've been questioning how they'd think a sub sounding like that was premium audio. Now I know what caused it.

Thanks for this post. I have been considering taking my truck in for vibration to get this update but now I will wait it out a while longer.

Is everyone still getting the vibration even with MDS off (gear selector set to 8 or tow/haul mode active)? When Eco mode/MDS is active I feel like I notice it more in the gas pedal vibrations than I do the sound from the exhaust but as soon as I turn MDS off it's immediately smooth again.

I was directed here from another thread. Glad I found this. I have the same issue. I tried turning on Tow/Haul mode to shut off MDS but it had zero effect. I put it in gear lock at 8 and watched to see if it was gear-related, it was not. The vibration seems to be more of an acceleration issue than related to a particular RPM, speed or gear. It seems whenever I accelerate at a medium rate (not slow or pedal down fast) it vibrates. It's a high frequency, low amplitude vibration that I feel in the gas pedal. And it's kind of a grating type of feel. It happens at a wide range of speeds, but seems to be most noticeable at 25 - 60 MPH and at 1500 - 2000 RPM. High RPM's I don't feel it. I will pay attention to the ambient temperature and see if it has an effect, but I live in California so it's not very cold here. I have an appointment with the dealer to get the 2 safety recalls complete (ground cable and brake pedal) I will have them look at Service Bulletin 08-140-18. This vibration is really degrading my once-great driving experience. I'm thinking about selling the truck and getting the new Ram 2500 that is coming out instead if I can't fix it.

Any updates on this? I just bought my Bighorn and feel the same thing. Seems to always be around 1750-2100 RPMs. Doesn’t matter what gear or speed.

Same issue here. Started at around 3k miles. On Wednesday dealer checked it out and stated everything was normal. Glad I'm not losing my mind and found this thread. Test drove a new one and it didn't do it. There's definitely something going on.

I seem to be getting a vibration in the pedals/steering wheel when i come to a stop between 5 - 20 MPH and also when taking off in that range as well. I want to say its the eTorque grabbing but its a really odd low vibration that makes you feel something mechanical is off. I also experience some odd sounds/vibrations with the MDS as I barely touch the throttle to maintain speeds, the MDS kicks on and off seems like. Putting the truck in Tow/Haul mode takes care of that problem but doesnt address the vibration when at lower speeds.

Hi Jezter,

We apologize for any inconvenience with this vibration. If you're thinking you'd like to get an inspection from your Ram dealer, let us know. We're available via direct message and can help with that process.

My original truck started giving this vibration/feedback at around 1800 miles and continued to do so until It was official bought back at 3k miles. I brought it to the attention of my dealer and they drove it and said everything was normal. Of course, they also said my missing backup center line wasn't missing and that I must not have had that feature. Fortunately my new truck has it. But I took a picture of it as proof...for the day when I have to take it in because it vanishes.

My new replacement truck, almost exactly the same as the one it replaced, does not yet suffer from this vibration. I just rolled over 1000 miles, but I am keeping a very close eye on it.

It's definitely an issue and I'm surprised someone hasn't found an official cause. With so many folks experiencing it, surely someone will figure it out.

I am expecting mine to start doing it, and it would be nice to know a problem and solution is found before that day comes.

I have not noticed anything with mine, just when the power steps were tucked up and the vibration canisters were touching them... I adjusted the canister, and it solved it.

My gas pedal had a slight “flutter” once in a while between 30-40 mph. Dealer replaced my pedal and now the vibration is constant and 10x worse! I told them and they just shrugged. I’m going back in. I wish I would have not said anything.
Is so bad now it makes me hate driving the truck. We’ll see want happens.

Mine has done this since day 1.. and im only on day 21.. The only complaint i have so far

I took it back to the dealer to check the new accelerator pedal and they said everything is fine and no vibration present at time. However this is not true. The original gas pedal was smooth with No road or engine vibration. They replaced the pedal so to a squeaking noise and now the road and engine vibration is constant and very annoying not to mention very pronounced.
I am, however taking the truck backto dealer tomorrow to have a Ram Engineer look at it.
thanks for your interest.

Took the truck back in. Of course they said “everything is fine and no vibration at present time”. That’s unacceptable. It’s pronounced and constant. Now tomorrow I’m taking it back again to have a Ram Engineer look at it. Recap: original gas pedal was smooth with no noticeable engine or road vibration. New pedal constant vibration from road and engine. They replaced to pedal do to a squeak. I’ll take the squeak over this vibration. I’ll keep you posted on what the engineer says.
