F-150 Lightning Epic tow test fail

So he bought a Lightning and is blaming God for not telling him about it's limitations? Dona a little research the problems he ran into are well known.
I’m sure the salesman getting commission and govt kickbacks explained everything fully before purchase.

That dude is straight up dumb. Even uninformed people know EVs are completely different. I mean he knew he needed a charger at home if that isn't a red flag to realize an EV is completely different idk wtf is.

And he talks about the government? In this case it's not the governments fault he bought that. It was more expensive the other F150s. He got up sold and was clueless and happily forked money over.

Can't stand the poor me mentality. I'm sure Ford lied about it's proformance but it's common knowledge even for the masses.

Can’t feel bad for the guy.. he jumped the gun and apparently without doing any bit of his on research (internet exist for a reason and is very easy to use to gather information) but we’ll just blame Ford and the Gov for it. Unless you plan out your trip/route throughly why the hell would you plan to take a EV on such a trip.. budget for a rental car.

I figured you guys would get a kick out of that article.😆

Sad thing is there’s a pretty sizable number of consumers that DON’T do the research and then cry when they get screwed while acting like it’s somebody else’s fault.

I totally agree but have to say that if you were not a car guy on some of these forums it may be easy to do. We are being lied to by everyone. Even motor trend has covered this up. They gave the lightning truck of the year and never mentioned all its limitations, especially when towing. Even the dumbass Jeep commercials show wranglers plugged in on a top of a cliff in Moab. Ever been to Moab? It wouldn’t be hard for an uninformed consumer to be totally fooled. Especially one from another socialist run government telling everyone how good of an idea this is. Kind of like Obamacare (got to pass it so we can find out what’s in it). Government and everyone else is basically saying trust us and purchase one, then you can find out how to use it.

Well, the 4xe Wranglers are hybrids, not full electric. I don't think they make a full electric Wrangler. As for Motortrend, they just give TOTY to whatever manufacturer pays them the most. Didn't even need to read any of the article to know the Lightning was going to win this year. And the TOTY article did mention the range limitations of the Lightning

Correct, the 4xe is a hybrid but the new Recon is supposed to be out in '24.

Has anyone checked out MotorTrend's recent F150 Lightning tow test? I'm curious about their findings. How does the Lightning handle towing compared to traditional gas-powered trucks? Did they test its towing capacity fully loaded? Looking to upgrade my truck and wondering if the Lightning's electric powertrain holds up for towing tasks. Any insights appreciated
It's like a 50 mile range when towing. Cant expect anything better with an EV.
If you are looking into these you should do it on the Ford forums since these are already sold and exist in people's garages.
