Mark - Thanks so much for offering to assist. I have been with this dealer for close to 10 years with the purchase of several new trucks. They were willing to get me back in on Tuesday to take another look at this. I will keep you posted, but I trust they will make it right. Thanks Again!

Thank you for taking the time to follow up with me, Toby. I am very happy to know that you are in good hands. I will be sure to be on the lookout for an update from you!

I started a thread myself earlier but figured I would just use this one for follow ups. Mike from Ram cares has already reached out to me. Ok add me to the list of E torque problems. 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel Quad 5.7, bought late March. AT 261 mile when I would get on it the voltage would drop from 14.0 to 11.7. Took to dealer and they did some SW updates and cleaned some connectors said it was fixed. Next day same thing happened when you got on it hard???? When back to dealer and Mike from Ram cares got them to open up a stars ticket for it. They found rear glass leaking into 48vt battery box. Recommended replacing rear glass assembly, 48vt battery and a connector. Took several weeks to get all the parts in. Took 4 days to get all that repaired. Picked truck up yesterday and this morning the SAME problem............ NOT HAPPY. I got the 90 day no payment plane and my 1st payment is due in 2 weeks... Got to get it back to the dealer, not a clue what they will do this time. Maybe they should read this thread, might give them a clue.

Ouch, sorry for the issues you are having. Interesting that it was a leak from the rear glass that caused some of the problem before.

I have an update. They have now replaced the wiring harness from the 48v battery pack behind the back seat to the generator or somewhere under the dash. They told me it would require the whole interior to be pulled from the truck. They did that and it still had the problem. They kept the truck and order a generator pack and replaced that. NOW all along I have had another problem of loosing the center instrument cluster and it going blank. I think they may of fixed the charging problem but not the instruments going blank. All I have is speedometer, fuel, temp and tach for instruments. Ram Cares was in contact with me the whole time. I complained quite a few times to them about being compensated for the troubles with nothing on that. So I applied for arbitration with NCDS and they accepted the case. About 3 days later Ram Cares call and wanted to talk about compensation... SO I thought that got the ball rolling... Wrong I mentioned that I now have a case with NCDS and you all should know about it. She did not??? Then she said she had to check with legal. Called back and said legal advised to stop communicating with me?? SO I guess this will be settled in arbitration. I was kind of hoping it would not come to that as research show about 50 or more gets settled before the herring that is Aug 5 for me.

Good luck with it.

My 2020 Ram had a start/stop system check error pop up and then it would not shift into gears properly. It also started to sputter and almost die. I had it towed to my local dealer and after three days still no full diagnosis but they are saying when they start it up the oil pressure is only at 17 pounds and they think my engine will need to be replaced. That is totally ridiculous if that's the case it only has 14k on it and never had one oil pressure alert or anything else until the start/stop alert. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this type of issue.

thanks

That doesn’t seem to have anything to do with eTorque, but it’s still a major bummer. Hope they get you taken care of!

RamCares Mike, I PM'ed you on my problem???

Add me to the customers with etorque issues. Just got the truck 19 days ago. Just past 800 miles on the truck. This being my 3rd ram which I had bought brand new. No real issues with the other trucks so I can say I was a happy Ram customer. SO here is my story taking my son so we could go fishing. Started the truck up cold and noticed the fan was blowing on the motor right on start up. Though the etroque system may have been fully charged so it was using some of the extra energy. About 5 miles into the trip the start stop yellow light comes on stating it will not work and service soon. Also I noticed the voltage had went down to 12 volts. Decided to drop my son off with friends so he could fish and I could bring the truck to the dealer. When I went to start the truck it struggled to get the engine running but it eventually did. Then brought it to the dealer. The worst part of the situation is I have a trip to the mountains in 2 days. Now I have no vehicle to put all the kid stuff (bikes, tubes etc,). I specifically waited to by a 2020 hoping all the bugs would be worked out on this truck. I would be careful buying this engine if I was getting this truck. Thankfully the dealer understood how I needed the truck soon so they took it in right away. I am grateful for that but do not think my trip will work out like I had planned.

I have to stop reading all these threads or I'm never going to enjoy my truck. I keep waiting for something to break. Coming from a Toyota that I owned for 10 years and never had to repair anything, this is not relaxing for me. Good luck with your rig. Mine is almost the exact same truck, minus the sport package.
Funny you mention that....I've been saying that if something happens with my Ram then I will try the Tundra lol. But no issues with my Ram so far....20k miles.

Purchased my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie on 9-11-19.
I wanted a silver laramie with Sport Appearance Package, Level 1 Entertainment Package, and a moon roof. In order to get this configuration without waiting several months I had to get the etorque engine. Well I should have waited....and not got the new eTorque engine.

I drove the vehicle around for a week without issues. This weekend a warning symbol came on for the eTorque changing system. Later that day it stopped working all together and my engine light came on. Soon after that the engine and battery light were on. Now my vehicle is at the dealership waiting to be fixed. Less than two weeks old and under 700 miles. View attachment 5210View attachment 5211
Good news is that the Etorque is covered under PowerTrain warranty..

Actually, it’s covered under the 8/80 emissions warranty.
Aha! Thats what I thought too until another guy a few months ago had a problem with his Etorque system....service techs told him it is completely separate from emissions warranties as it doesn't play an "active" part in filtering emissions like how a catalytic converter, etc. does. I also verified that with Mopar.

Further, as part of the Basic Limited Warranty, the Federal Emission Warranty covers the following parts of the eTorque system for eight years/80,000 miles, whichever comes first.

  • Belt Driven Hybrid Starter Generator Assembly
  • Catalytic Converter
  • Powertrain Control Module
  • Power Pack Unit - 48 Volts
The "Warranty Coverage at A Glance" graph in the 2019 or 2020 Ram 1500 Standard Factory Warranty Booklet provides an overview perspective of the;above described eTorque warranties on the Ram 1500 from 1 year/12,000 miles through 8 years/80,000 miles.

These components are not covered by any Mopar Vehicle Protection extended warranty plan at the time of this publishing.

"In Conclusion
If you have any questions about any Mopar Vehicle Protection plans, feel free to call us at 269.685.3557 or 866.943.7778, or email us today."

See above. Your “another guy” can sue.

Still was covered in PowerTrain warranty so doesn't matter. But that section must've been added recently. the hybrid system wasn't listed back in April when I was checking before I bought my Ram. Maybe it's because I was looking at Mopar and not the Chrysler website...?

It was listed on my paperwork in 2018.
