I have to stop reading all these threads or I'm never going to enjoy my truck. I keep waiting for something to break. Coming from a Toyota that I owned for 10 years and never had to repair anything, this is not relaxing for me. Good luck with your rig. Mine is almost the exact same truck, minus the sport package.

Same here. I was active on another ram forum with my 2014 & 2015 ram just waiting to have the issues others had. I was lucky that nothing ever happend.
But it can be stressful reading what might happen lol

I had the same issue.

I picked up my Limited on 9-13 and drove it ~60 miles before it quit working (Battery and Check Engine light). The dealer and Chrysler did everything they reasonably could and I just picked it up this morning. ~25 miles in so far so good lol. They were nice enough to let me drive my old truck around on dealer plates for ~ 2 weeks. Apparently the generator (etorque unit itself) was bad on mine.

A little concerned. Also concerned that the warranty doesn't cover a rental car while they are waiting for parts but only while they are actually working on it. I would have been without a vehicle for almost 2 weeks had the dealership not gone above and beyond.
Ok two weeks is scary to me. I bought the 2019 with etorque two weeks ago and at 2079 miles it went to the dealership with a check engine light. The code said battery for etorque and the dealership has been back and forth with the factory trying to figure out wth. Not a good sign, and no loaner vehicle.... but maybe I need to go get one. Can’t take weeks off work for a broken brand new truck.

heard from dealership this morning. Factory says to replace entire battery pack. Unfortunately that isn’t an in stock item and comes from the vender, which means we wait for awhile...at least 4 to 5 days for the parts. Dealership is great offering me a loaner car while the parts are enroute.

Not a good prognosis from the dealership. My truck needs a new etorque system and it's so new they cannot order one so they are waiting to here from Chrysler corporation on what to do... the dealership has no idea how long it will take to get parts.

tell them to pull you one off a new one on the lot while they wait for their parts to fix theirs!

Purchased my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie on 9-11-19.
I wanted a silver laramie with Sport Appearance Package, Level 1 Entertainment Package, and a moon roof. In order to get this configuration without waiting several months I had to get the etorque engine. Well I should have waited....and not got the new eTorque engine.

I drove the vehicle around for a week without issues. This weekend a warning symbol came on for the eTorque changing system. Later that day it stopped working all together and my engine light came on. Soon after that the engine and battery light were on. Now my vehicle is at the dealership waiting to be fixed. Less than two weeks old and under 700 miles. View attachment 5210 View attachment 5211
i am having the same issue you described. Truck has been at the shop for a week now awaiting parts. Luckily the dealer didn't even hesitate to give me a loaner. So far they are looking to replace the power pack.

My 2019 limited was at the dealer for some fit and finish issues and Uconnect issues and low and behold I go to pick it up today and the battery code does the etorque and engine light come on. It has 3000 miles on it. This is yet another issue with my 2 month old $67000 truck. The dealer has no clue what is wrong with it but it sounds like some of the issues in this link. Maybe the etorque charging system. This sucks. Fortunately the Service Manager and dealership have been great. Its not their fault but taking good care of me.

Got my truck back today.. the service department changed out the charging system so I hope there wont be anymore problems.
Good luck. My dealer notified me last night that they will need to change out the battery pack behind the rear seat. No idea how long the parts will take as they come from an outside vendor. The dealer has been great but it doesn't take away from the frustration of my truck going into week number 2 in the shop. Fortunately, my etorque acted up while at the dealer. I guess that's a good thing. Unfortunately, i lost my back up camera and Sirius while there too. Great first few months with my $67,000 dream truck. Between the laundry list of quality control issues I am dealing with and now the mechanical and electronic issues that recently arose I cant say I would recommend a 2019 RAM truck to anyone. Thankfully the dealership experience has been painless.

Well make this the 3rd etorque problem youve heard of.
At 4,400miles, my trucks ABS and power steering shut down and eventually the enitire electrical system shut down. Mind you while traveling on the interstate.
I was stranded and had to be towed to the dealership.
So dealership confirms its a problem with the etorque recharging system.
Going on 2 weeks now without a fix.
My dealer is Allstar Dodge in Denham Springs, LA
I no longer have confidence in the etorque system. I feel FCA has a major problem here they are not willing to acknowledge.

Sorry to hear. Its unbelievable how this stuff isn't ironed out. FCA pushed the etorque out without being properly prepared to deal with issues. Push for a lifetime warranty because your confidence on the truck is lacking.

OK, make mine the 4th reported eTorque problem. Bought the truck the day before Halloween, and the check engine light came on at 300 miles. I checked the DTCs with a reader, and it had thrown a P0daf and a P1a29 code. I had a hard time finding those on the internet, but they appeared to be related to the battery pack. Took it to the dealer (Gillman Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Houston) and they gave me a loaner, no questions asked.

Three days later, I picked up my truck and they told me they checked everything and cleared the codes. Oh, and they put 30-40 miles on it to test it to see if it happened again. (Thanks for that.) They told me to bring it back if it happened again. (Duh...)

The next day I drove down to my folks for Thanksgiving, and on the way back the engine light came on again with 445 miles on the odometer. Same P0daf error code. Took it back to the dealer on Monday, and they are awaiting a response from their STAR engineers. Oh, and they gave me another loaner, no questions asked.

I really love my truck (from what little time I've gotten to drive it), but it makes me regret getting the eTorque. I didn't really want the eTorque, but they didn't have one without it with everything else on it that I wanted.

Unreal. I heard from the RAM Case Manager working on my file today that they are sending an engineer and a tech team to diagnose my truck. Are you frigging kidding me? FCA puts out a product that the dealer techs cant work on? Pure BS. I'm convinced FCA is just taking a trial and error approach to fixing my truck and no one has a clue. Great job FCA. Worth every bit of $67,000. Btw, I too just got the etorque because the truck had everything else i wanted and it was on the lot. FCA should leave the hybrid stuff to manufacturers who actually know what they are doing.

So the latest update from my dealer is they are hoping to get the battery pack for Etorque next week. Already in shop for two weeks for a multitude of issues. Next week makes three weeks without my truck. I think its time to consult with a Lemon Law attorney.

Yep. If mine isn't fixed after this time I plan on doing the same. I'm quickly losing all confidence they'll get it sorted out.

Hi daj4256,
We are truly sorry that this concern has not been resolved yet. Please send us a private message if you would like any additional assistance while your truck is at the dealer.

I ran a Lincoln Mercury dealer (GSM) and Lincoln would send out engineers to inspect and diagnose problems regularly. Especially on concerns/issues that would occur that hadn't appeared during product testing. That happens throughout the industry. They need to see what it is in person in order to determine if whatever happened was a part failure or if there is an underlying design problem that needs to be addressed. The dealership techs don't have much history to draw on and even though most specialize in various vehicle areas they still have to work on a multitude of years and models.

I found out from the dealer today that no one is coming out to the shop. They are "working with the dealer techs to assist". I'm not at all confident that the FCA experts are doing anything more than replacing parts using trial and error. Based on what I've been told and what I've seen I'm not impressed.
