I have a 2020 ram 1500 and I went to move my truck and forgot the e brake was on I gave some gas and it did not move then I realized it was on did this cause any damage
Nope youre fine, the torque converter just dissipated the energy since the wheels didn’t turn. It would be nice if the truck gave a warning when putting it into drive with the parking brake still on, I’ve done that a couple timesI have a 2020 ram 1500 and I went to move my truck and forgot the e brake was on I gave some gas and it did not move then I realized it was on did this cause any damage
I think you can set it that way or have it so it must be manually released. It didn't damage anything, but it should have released automatically if you shifted into drive or reverse and your seatbelt was fastened.

No manual release setting. Auto set is an option to set the parking brake manually or automatically, but it automatically releases IF the seat belt is connected, no option for a manual release.I think you can set it that way or have it so it must be manually released.
