DODGE RAM 1500 WHEEL RIM GLOSS BLACK HOL.2677-BBB-GLOSS-A
2019-2024 | DODGE | RAM 1500 | 20x9 | 6-139.7 | 12 SPOKE | OEM
Powder coating requires baking the rims in an oven after the coating... the plastic inserts would have melted and/or warped, so they needed to be removed, painted separately and then re-attached to the rims.Dumb question but why did you need to take the inserts out to powder coat? Could you not do them while attached? Going to do the same thing and trying to figure out if I can just bring to a shop as is.
Any luck on this? I tried this and broke an insert. Might have to go without them now…Does anybody know if you can buy these replacement inserts separately?
Whoa that looks way better. Wish they didn’t have the inserts to behind with. Annoying that the trail boss has way nicer wheels than our off road 4x4 limited![]()

You can do it by hearing them up. It’s a thick adhesive and styrofoam under them. If you start with a corner and allow them to come up on their own. Once you have a corner place a towel between the tool used and the clad chrome piece.Thought about painting the wheels, but need to remove the oval plastic chrome inserts on my wheels...thanks
