Wow @Dusty1948 agreed your mpg numbers are outstanding. Do you have a laid back driving style, in other words do you drive with an intent to get good mileage? 2WD, Quad vs Crew weights, and 3.21 no doubt helps a bit.

I normally drive sedate, and during the first couple of thousand miles I was breaking it in very easy. The actual mileage I got on the tank that was in my previous post was 23.06 mpg, hand calculated. The Miles to Empty figure is based on the results of the last tank. Doesn't mean that's what you'll get on the next. It's all how you drive.

My fuel mileage (hand calculated) to date is as follows:

20.18, 20.97, 21.95, 23.06, 20.90, 19.07.

On the fourth tank (23.06) I actually saw a current average of 27.1 on a 80 mile drive on state roads with speeds of 40-45 average, and never over 55. Unfortunately, my return to normal, around town and shorter trips the tank average dropped to 23.06 at the end.

I'm in an area with relatively flat to small, rolling hills. I'm also over 60 and retired, which translates to a much more patient driver.:)

Best regards,
Dusty

And it's been deadly accurate.

Edit: I have a heavy foot and have been working in the new Hemi. The elder statesmen of the forum might be getting better mpg with less aggressive driving.[/QUOTE well said. My son drove my new Ram yesterday( 5.7 3.91 Limited) with me and he’s a lead foot. 13.9 average. I drove the next day (40 miles) and it returned to 21-22. It’s all about keeping out of the throttle.

I saw this up on reddit. 33 gal tank, easy on the pedal (believe 5.7 v8).

Mine has been about the same as this. I get 17.5 to 18.5 usually daily driving. My typical tank reads around 580-590 on fill up.

Referenceing the 33 gallon tank. Today I had 20 mile driving range left filled tank with 33.49 gallon. So there must be a couple gallon reserve or empty mean empty.

Highway it gets 17-19 mpg. The very first trip I took was the day after I got the truck.

In city I get 12-13. It’s way less.

I have a limited

Wow. Must be nice guys. I’m getting 10mpg in the city. I have 2903 miles on it as of today. The worst gas mileage in my 12 years of Ram trucks. And FCA nor the dealership can figure it out.

Yikes... are you a heavy foot like me? That does seem a bit harsh.

I just got my 2019 big horn a couple days ago and am only at 150 miles or so. The fuel range/miles to empty on the display hasn’t moved yet. Does it take some time for the truck to set a baseline and understand what the MPG’s are?

I average 650 per tank full. Now it may vary depending on driving style. That seems to be a pretty good MPG if it hasn't moved . When it does move it works down steady.

These are some good numbers. Itll easily get me from Cali to Vegas and back. Not quite enough for Cali to Utah but I'm still excited/impressed. The 3.92, v8 and 33gal seems like a good combo but does anyone have 3.21, v8 and 33gal?

Thanks to everyone who has given their input and helped me out.
yes - I can go 580 miles and stop for fuel putting in 28 gallons and at that point there's still 5 gallons left in the tank. But when filling up the DTE will show 725 to empty.

4x4 on 33s. With a 1/4 tank left, this was pretty stop and go trip too. But usually when I fill up it’ll be around 490-505 and be pretty damn accurate. 80% city 20% highway

Beware of the new GM diesel in the Silverado 1500. "I managed 38.1 mpg according to the Silverado's onboard computer, but other media members attending the drive posted even better numbers, with more than a few attendees showing north of 41-45 mpg. "
Pickuptruck.com
RAM is telling that they will be classleading when the RAM 15000 diesel is out. I wonder.

1300 on the odometer and I’m getting 265 on fill up, I’m beginning to think something is wrong?!?!
I have the same configured truck as above, literally. I can easily believe mid 500’s highway. The claimed EPA figures would be appx 400 at the city 15 and 550 at highway, but I exceed both of those. Have about 1800 miles on it.

Agree, I’ve put 26 in a 26 and didn't push it into the gas station...

Off Road Package (if that has to do anything because of tires)
Standard tank 22 or 26 idk. Don’t have the 33 :(
Only city driving and avg 13 mph.
I only get 260 to 280mile a tank lol. Only got like 700 miles on the truck though.

Id think you should easily get better than 13 mpg... how much idling, hi speed driving?
Should be a 26 gallon tank.
