Display Theme Resetting

I believe that the system has to be a navigation system to have the themes.

Has anyone had any luck with Jscan getting any themes other than Rebel to stick? Changing to Offroad (Rebel) works great but I cant get Limited (Blue) or either of the Longhorn themes to stick.

I didn’t. I tried the blue theme but it didn’t stay. Once it Didn’t stick I switched back to the off road truck With Jscan and theme 5 (red) and so far it’s sticking.

off road is the only one I can get to work as well. Strange that’s the only one that will stick but I wanted to make sure I wasn’t doing something wrong. Thanks

Last week my battery died. No warning, just died. I replaced it the next day and watched the instrument cluster theme since I wasn’t sure what would happen. As I wrote above earlier this year I used Jscan to get theme 5 to stick And it has been rock solid Since then.
At first startup the theme reset to the speedo font with thin numbers. This is the instrument cluster theme that the truck defaulted to when using remote start. After a couple more starts theme 5 returned. So feeling adventurous I then set the theme to the blue theme. So far it hasn’t changed. This includes using the remote Start 3 times today!
I’ll continue to monitor and honestly have No idea why this would be acting this way. But, I’ll take it!

Well that didn’t last long… was driving around town today doing some chores and upon starting after 2 or 3 stops it reverted back to the red Theme 5. So, so odd…

When you change the dash theme, are you also changing the theme in the center screen to match it? I think this needs to be done for them to stick.

Howdy. when I changed the theme I used the Theme in Settings. Both the instrument cluster and the uconnect screen changed and matched. maybe I’m not understanding your ques?

When you change the theme in settings, to say the blue theme, (which i believe is Laramie) are you also using jscan to change it in the cluster to match? I think the cluster theme (using jscan) must match what you pick in the theme settings (on the 8.4” screen) for it to stick. Ive still been running the red rebel theme for like 20k miles now, multiple battery disconnects, new battery etc, still sticking!

Ahh, now I understand ! No I didn’t change it with Jscan, just on the head unit. If I get bored I’ll try with the Jscan and see if it sticks.

Just want to chime in here and post my results with changing the Special Vehicle Config setting. I have tested multiple themes, and they have all stuck so far. Granted that it has only been through several ignition cycles. I currently have it set to Sport.

The only thing I have been doing differently is I am setting both Special Vehicle Config 1 and Special Vehicle Config 2 to the same exact setting. Not sure if anyone else has been doing this or not. But in my 2023, I have yet to have it default back to the original.

Have I just been lucky until now? Maybe.

Interesting! I did not change both. Please keep us informed with your results!
