Has anyone noted a dashboard vibration over 50mph on the driver side near the windshield base? My dealer can't replicate, which is to be expected as it usually comes to light after a bit of driving, a short test drive wouldn't show it.

A lot of people have had issues with the rear-view mirror mounting base. This is where the rattle usually comes from...

Mark, the dealer had it last week but could not locate. They asked me to record it and bring it back. Hendrick Dodge in Concord NC has been great

Thank you for the follow up! If it would be of interest, I would be more than willing to escalate a case on your behalf to a specialist who can work alongside both you and your dealer to exhaust all outlets of assistance in addressing this concern.

I have a rattle that seems to be coming from the steering column or dash display panel. The frequency sounds like plastic on plastic and/or aluminum, also sounds like a washer on a loose bolt vibrating and similar to the sound i used to hear on the old cars when the speedometer was about to go out when the little plastic cogs were going bad. The rattle is loudest around 45mph but is not consistent. The rattle started around 20,000 miles in October 2019. I noticed on cloudy days it would not rattle and seemed to be affected by heat. The dealer could not hear the sound so i drove all winter with no problems BUT as Spring arrived so came the rattle. I took the truck to the dealership where they were very reluctant to work on it if they cant hear it. After about 5 trips to the dealer they finally tore into it and thought they had it fixed but the noise came right back after about 50 miles of driving. It is now August and I just got the truck back after another week in the shop, where they supposedly tore out the entire dash and replaced the accelerator/brake pedal assembly (not sure why) and assured me they had found it. Within 15 miles of driving , "ITS BACK"! I am now waiting on the dealership to contact me when they have a loaner available and now have 35,500 miles on the truck. Another thing is the sound seems to be instigated after a mild jolt on the highway or a turn out of a drive.

Thank you for sharing - I'm following as my truck is starting to do the same thing. Its just an annoying rattle that starts up at about 45 mph and after hitting a mild bump in the road. I haven't taken it to the dealership, but would you mind providing an update after your return trip to the dealer?

I just noticed this rattle as well today. Starts at about 45 mph, sounds like a loose bolt. Out of warranty so hopefully someone can get some ideas and share.

Hey guys,
Bringing back an old thread coz I got this exact noise and its been a pain to locate it. Any one find a solution or possible cause?

I know so far what its not:
1. not the hood release cable
2. not the ebrake
3. Not any loose cables below dash
4. Not the Headliner
5. not any loose modules in the driver side area
6. not any loose panels in the driver side area
7. not the nav screen or any other loose cables or connectors behind it.
8. Not the speaker grilles
9. Not the clock spring

Any ideas?

Also adding a video of the noise (its the plastic rattling sound):

Just an update on my issue - it seems the sound is coming from the spring loaded pad behind the airbag module (referred to as the horn pad by the dealer) looks like the springs don't put enough tension on the plate / pad causing it to rattle. .

The entire airbag module is to be replaced and is on order - should be in in a months time... Hopefully it does fix the rattle issue, will keep you guys updated in all cases.

Hi guys,
Latest update on my issue and it is not the horn pad, the airbag assembly was replaced and the noise is still there.

Dealer says they will replace the steering column and is due for arrival mid November - let's see if that solves the issue.

I am having the same problem on my 2019 limited. 64k miles. Has 5 inch lift on 35s air ride. The noise is identical to tyrants clip. My clip is too large to post. But i have a clip of the same exact noise.
