So I’ve taken my truck into two dealerships two seperate times now and have not gotten any resolution onto a very annoying rattle in the dash. This is a truck that stickers for around $64,000 which is not cheap. I’m very disappointed with the quality from FCA and from both the dealerships I visited. I will upload a video later of the exact noise for further clarification but has anyone else ever experienced this? If so did your dealer fix it?

I don't recall who it was but someone here had a loose screw inside their HVAC box that would obviously roll at every corner. Dealer had to take it out to find the screw and remove. You can search for it. I think they even posted a picture of the surgery.

Hope you don't have that situation.

I have this issue as well and have narrowed it down to around the speaker on the right side of the 12" screen. If I slam my hand on it hard enough it'll stop for a few minutes but always returns. The faster I'm going the more often it appears. It's too high of a pitch to just be a loose screw and sounds more like the speaker grill is rubbing or rattling. I haven't taken it in yet but will soon and also have a 2019 RAM 1500 Limited.

No rattle from mine yet but I did find a screw sitting in the cell phone holder right after I purchased the truck. Have not been able to locate where the screw should be though.

This is exactly what I am experiencing! It is noticeable when going high speeds (55-75 MPH) but I sent my dealer a video where you can hear the rattle and they claimed they couldn’t hear it. I don’t know if they are in a loud room or just being *******s. Is there any way to escalate this to FCA? I can’t afford to keep taking time off of work to take my truck in!

Here is a video of the rattle. Let me know if I’m being anal or if you’d take it back too.

Same issue here. Took it in last week and the dealer removed the 12” console and secured a wire that he said was loose. Unfortunately the rattle is still present. I am tempted to try some sound deadening tape but am worried about removing it myself. I did push some foam between the shiny plastic edge at the top of the screen and that did help a bit.

I am having a similar issue. It seems to be coming from the left side of the truck. It seems to move around. I dont know if it is in the speakers or what but its a high pitch reverberation under power at 1500 to 2000 RPM. It drives me Insane Im constantly hitting the dash, door, roof, whatever to try and make it go away. It seems to be more predominant when there is more people in the vehicle. Its soo annoying and my truck has 3000 miles on it........

Totally get how you feel. I’ve been contacting Ram Cares to see what can be done. These trucks are not cheap and this kinda stuff is unacceptable in my eyes. You pay $50-$60K for a truck you should get piece of mind and quality with it!

I 100 percent agree. It makes me sick to know how much I paid for a truck to have this noise issue. On top of that I hit a deer and it wasnt even a month old yet. Then looking at all the treads on here of the issues people are having its very concerning. Guess its good I bought the bumper to bumper warranty.

Managed to get rid of the rattle today. It involved taking out the 12" console and adding sound dampening material along with anti vibration foam. All in it only took about an hour to get this fixed.

Materials Used:

1. I started by disconnecting the battery and removing the screen console... Remove rubber cover in top tray and remove two screws.

2. Pull console straight out to release clips around the perimeter. It will make a loud noise as they release. Be careful not to pull too far. Also watch out for the clips scratching the dash.

3. Unclip 4 connectors to release screen.

4. Check tightness of all screws and bolts in the back of the console. I had one that was only half screwed in which may have been part of the source of the rattle.

5. Add sound dampening (I used kilmat) to the back of the console around the perimeter but not right to the edge. Make sure to roll or use a tool to ensure adhesion.

6. Add foam around the perimeter where the console will sit against the dash.

7. Add foam to dash mount along the edge without covering clip holes.

8. Regain your sanity not having to listen to the dash rattle every day.

9. Ignore the urge to use the leftover sound dampening materials.

So you think it was the 12" assembly moving or the cables rattling?

In my case it was definitely the 12” assembly. The way it was designed it has plastic sitting on plastic. The sound dampening and foam help to reduce the vibrations stopping the rattle. The cables could cause rattling but it’s unlikely since they are wrapped. I suggest focusing on the perimeter areas and any place where the assembly sits against the dash. I cut the foam tape in thirds to have a perimeter piece touching all the way around. If the clips fit loosely they could also contribute to rattling. Might be a good idea to add something thin around them as well.
