Clicking sound coming from the brake pedal when braking?

Some people have a clicking which is a relay others have a squeak which is the assembly itself.

Is the relay under a TSB yet, or does Chrysler say it is functioning as designed?

Mine is not a squeak. def a series of clicks. clicks on pressing (2-3 clicks) and clicks letting go of the brake. Could it be related to those with the Electronic Trailer Brake equipped?

Haven't noticed any noise here and nearing 17.5k miles. Hoping it doesn't start up. Guess my Carven exhaust drowns the noise out.
Wondering if this has to do with that adjustable brake pedal recall, but that assumes everyone experiencing it has that option.

Mine does it also. It is annoying. I finally just found the thread regarding the front squeak with the "cram a piece of sock in it" remedy...after going to the dealer 50 times and being told they didn't hear anything.......so now the annoying break pedal is next up. The pedal shifts left and right...as does the gas pedal. Normal for pedals to be loose? My break makes the clicking and it is obvious that the assembly has multiple part and they move a bunch.

There is a Star file (or whatever you call it). Took mine to dealership today. They ordered replacement for entire assembly.

I am at the dealer now and they do not know why it’s making that clicking sound. Not sure what to do! It’s definitely not right. I check multiple rebels and 1500s to verify.

I don't have a link for it. Dealer said it's a known issue. It's a 3 piece assembly.

I just got a 2019 rebel and am having the same issue and it started at about 200 miles on the do, do you know if a recall is issued or just replace and hope for the best?

it's the whitish half dome retaining cup that needs greased...search "clicking pedal" and you'll see my thread follow the procedure on their and it will go away...

I had this issue as well what I actually did was applied A felt tape to the metal behind the pedal arm. If you look at the pedal assemble the actual brake pedal arm contacts another metal piece before it really brakes. In doing so two pieces of metal rub on one another. Applying grease will help that but so will adding something to prevent the two metal pieces from contacting one another. If needed I can take a picture once I did this the noise is gone. And it’s been well over a month.

Here is a picture of the two pieces I am referring to. If your problem is similar you can diagnose it by getting down there and barely pressing the brake with your hand or wiggling pedal. As you can see I added a felt tape to prevent these pieces from rubbing. It only happens when you first start to press the brake after your fully engaged the contact has been done already which means the noise stops until you repeat the process.

^thanks for the tips on that metal bracket! I took apart the white plastic dome piece everyone else has mentioned, and even with that piece disconnected, I grabbed the pedal and it was still making the same clicking noise, so obviously it had to be something else within the assembly making that noise.

I am having the same issue. I bought the truck last year with 2,000 miles. The noise started about 6months later. Took it to the dealer but they couldnt find anything. Then for some reason the noise stopped but has sinced returned intermittently and it is annoying. Not only can I hear it but I feel it in the brake everytime when it clicks.

I have a 2020 Laramie, I have the same noise. Almost like a creaking noise from the brake pedal. Im gonna spray some wd40 later.

I found out today that when I had taken my Ram 1500 in several months ago, they claim they replaced the brake booster assembly. I was never made aware of this. That may explain why it went away and has come back. Back to the dealer tomorrow for drope off and diagnose. Will be having another issue looked at again. Having the Jolting/bumpfeeling again, and the drive shaft/yoke assembly was already been replaced 5 months ago.

Hi Mark,

Yes I am in need of assistance still. The clicking problem was fixed/resolved. They replaced the brake booster and brake assembly again and all has been great with that problem. But the other problem has not gone away and hase gotten even worse. I had the truck in October to have jolt/nudge/ bump feeling looked at again. They could not figure out what was wrong, the dealer contacted STAR/CHRYSLER to find out next steps. STAR/Chrysler suggested replacing the pressure module in the transmission and see what happens from there. Part had to be ordered, so I had to wait until November to have it done, then I had surgery . So when I got to drive the truck again it was December and the problem was still there. I contacted the dealer again about the problem and was told to bring it in and they would call Chrysler again. Took the truck in in December just to get told they cant figure it out and thats a normal operation but Chrysler has been made aware. IN FEBRUARY it started getting worse really bad even backing up. I took truck to different dealer and went over everything, they pulled all the service records and said they would look into it. Got a call the next day and said they feel it, but not sure what to do and that they have had complaints for other dodge pickups doing it also, and that Chrysler is aware but no fix available.... I tool the truck back in in June trying to have addressed again in hopes of some updates, And all I got was the same response its normal, Chrysler is aware. I bought this truck brand new and had no problem until 3800 miles, then driveshaft was replaced, then the problem stopped for about 1000 miles and then came back and has been getting worse since. Driveshaft replaced, computer recalibrated several times, pressure module replaced in tranny and the problem is still there. This is considered a lemon. If this is normal as the dealer claimed, then they never would have done relpairs, or replaced a defective driveshaft or anything else per CHRYSLER. These needs to be fixed or something ASAP. There are many people here with the same problems and they were not there when test driving, or driving few hundred miles.... FIX IT. CHRYSLER!!!
