Check Your Fender Flares.

Not a huge fan of any of the OEM options. Any one able to recommend something (black) that might offer some protection?

I definitely like both of those. They were on my list as well before I settled on something more stock looking. Icons with modded brackets to tuck them up and tight. Still gives me the benefit of protecting the rockers and doors as well as easy step up for the wife and kid but they don't stick out way past the fenders. Here in Michigan we get salt, sand, and pebbles thrown down in the winter. These have been a saver!

More info on another post.

Which mid flaps? Truck details? (Putting it in your signature helps) any running boards or steps?

2019 limited folding running boards the mud flaps I put on were gatorback

Will do ,taking it in Saturday for the recall on the adjustable pedals..
I also have the rear excessive road noise in the rear of the truck that I will be talking to them about ,the flares I just noticed today.

I have the same problem with only 2500 miles. I think it’s crazy. I wish I had caught it earlier.

Had a 2014 white Jeep SRT 8 that did the exact same thing. Not surprised, and if they haven’t modified them by now, they are not going to.

Checked mine today, my rear flares are all chipped up too. ugh. also, the leading edge of my rear doors also have a bunch of chips in them. apparently I just have to wrap the entire truck in paint protection film...

I will keep an eye out, we have a mixture of mag chloride and the fine gravel in CO... glad I have the black!

So to follow up a bit more...I need to go talk to the dealer I think. I did some more inspection. At 11,000 miles, I have rock chips all over my fender flares, rocker panels, leading door edges and cab corners. My truck looks like it's only driven on gravel for 100,000 mi. It's ridiculous. I understand some over time, but I shouldn't have to spend $1k+ to wrap the entire lower half of the truck to keep the paint looking decent.

I’m at about 1800 miles. Mine are getting worse every day. It’s really disheartening on an otherwise perfect dream truck.

Sorry people are having this issue. That sucks.

I have 3200 miles on it and they look new. I have WT flaps and Go Rhino RB20 boards. I live in ND and we have sanded roads all winter. Haven't driven much gravel though. Only posting for informational purposes.

I'll likely apply some ppf just in case. Thanks for bringing this up.

These areas of the rear fenders and lower body panels in front of the rear wheels need to be supplied with a factory, thicker paint protective product like many vehicles have, such as the Grand Cherokee. This is the only problem I have discovered with my Longhorn. A major goof in my opinion, one that should and will be a money maker for the after market. I hope someone steps up quickly as my current PPF is taking a beating!!!
